I spent ALL day packing. Well, MY version of packing usually consists of about 5 min. of packing then checking my email then having a snack then researching a recipe to make then dawdling around the house….and repeat….
A few days ago I got 11 bananas for $1.26 from the quick sale rack at Harris Teeter. I popped 4 of them in the freezer and decided to make some nanner ice cream this morning. Yep that’s right, ice cream for breakfast!
My ancient blender hard at work

I love when it folds in like this…looks like pillowy marshmallows.

I put the rest in the freezer for later consumption.

I also had some watermelon yogurt w/ a crumbled Kashi Honey Almond Flax granola bar. I prefer Greek yogurt but we have a surplus of this in the house.

Then my bestie, Katherine, came over for a before-we-head-back-to-school farewell and we got some tart frozen yogurt at Iceberry. I got strawberry and honey dew flavors. I definitely had my fair share of dairy today. I’ve been delinquent about taking calcium supplements so I guess it’s alright, hehe.

We walked around the Town Center that I live in and stopped in a cafe and bakery. I just wanted to browse but then spotted THIS:

A Carrot Cake Cupcake w/ cream cheese frosting! We all know my obsession with everything carrot cake. So yes, it was purchased and consumed immediately.
This is a glimpse of the town center from where I ate this little guy.

Then I dragged Katherine to CVS to get my prescription, which is conveniently located next to Whole Foods.
I wasn’t planning on getting anything until I found THIS:

Whaaaaaat!? Yeah, that was my reaction too! It didn’t taste too much like almond butter nor Nutella, really. The texture of this reminded me of chocolate frosting–soft and fluffy yet quite thick. I had a couple spoonfuls to get an accurate tasting

My uncle us all out for my farewell dinner tonight. I’ll be posting about it tomorrow. Lots of pictures and LOTS of eats. Get excited!
I’ve got loads of packing left to do, waaaah!

Duuude the nanner ice cream, carrot cupcake, and dark chocolate almond made me squeal in delight here at my desk. Good thing it’s lunch break so I can grab some food. Good luck packing!
Who says you can’t have ice cream for breakfast? I have (tofu) pudding for breakfast all the time:)
steal on the naners, looks like you put them to good use!
that dark almond butter seems delicious, and would be my perfect nut better!
I love that you had “ice cream” for almost every meal today. I think we should do these days more often! Ice cream just makes the world a better place!
OMG dark almond butter? Really? No joke? I must find this asap!
Have a wonderful time at the party. Can’t wait to hear all about it my dear.
DARK chocolate almond butter? Get out of town!!! Why do I have a strong feeling that it will be as elusive around here as those coconut M&M’s???
Does the banana soft serve freeze solid or does say relatively soft once it’s been put back in the freezer?
YUM! I Love tart frozen yogurt. Have you seen the new tart frozen yogurt you can buy at the grocery store from Dreyers. . . it’s A-MAZING!
Banana soft serve, iceberry (in strawberry and honeydew!), carrot cake cupcakes, and chocolate frosting/ab all in the same day??? I’m so jealous! I really need to find the chocolate ab
Sounds decadent!
Ice Cream for dessert? YUM! I tried to make something like this not too long ago and for some reason didn’t turn out quite right–I’ll have to try again! Good luck packing! Oh wow I WANT some of that Dark Chocolate Almond Spread, sounds amazing right now!
I pack the SAME way you do. Takes me forever, since I only spend about 30 minutes packing and three hours doing other things and calling it packing..
Ahh what a superb banana sale! Also, honeydew froyo? Totally plannin on finding that in SF.
Allie, your pics of the frozen banana ice cream are to. die. for. WOW! I don’t know what I’m waiting for. I need to make some. Great recap and pics of the Summit BTW. I’m sorry we didn’t have the chance to hang out more. Thanks for your recipe for the Aprican bites – I think I might try to make my own version really soon. Good luck at school!
I just found your blog and I am so happy to see that you made banana soft serve with a blender. I’ve been dying to try it but don’t have a food processor. I may freeze some bananas tonight!
A couple of summers ago, I lived on chocolate ice cream and milk! Best diet ever (though not the healthiest).
I just got back from Whole Foods and saw that MaraNatha kind. I was so tempted to get it, but I just wasn’t sure of the taste.
banana ice cream is my favorite!! i actually had that for breakfast today too! i added some of the amazing grass chocolate powder and it was delicious! that’s like 4 fruit and vegetable servings in my “ice cream” and so low cal!
and i want that almond spread. i better not find it at my whole foods-it’ll be gone in a day!!
Hi! I LOVE your blog and all your recipes!! THANK YOU for making good for you food look so good! What is the recipe for your banana icecream? I MUST KNOW, lol! It looks sooo good. Is it just milk and maybe a splash of vanilla you have in your blender there? Or if there is a link to how to make it if you could hook me up that would be great

Hey Em!
Wow this post is from SO LONG AGO!! The banana soft serve is purely frozen bananas! I add a splash of almond milk to make it easier on my blender. You don’t need any sugar because bananas are naturally sweet.
Thanks for the comment!
