Dripping Wet

I’m sitting at my desk SOAKING wet because there was a torrential rain storm that hit as I was walking back to my car, which was parked light years away! And now it’s sunny….

Anywho, I woke up and had 1/2 of a Kashi Honey Almond Flax Bar before hitting the gym. It’s so great to be back at a normal-sized gym again.

I got the schedules for the Group Fitness Classes and Spinning Classes. Can’t wait for Body Tone, Ashtanga Yoga and Spin!

Workout:

This morning I ran 1 mile. I’m trying to take it SUPER DUPER slow so I don’t mess up my shins for the umpteenth time.  Then I walked 1 mile on a 6.0 incline and ellipticalled for 20 [boring] minutes.

I am trying to start back up running. I’ve given my shins enough rest (hopefully) and I miss running so much!  Two years ago, I got up to 40 miles a week and now it is 2 miles at best.  I’ve been shopping around for races to sign up for to use as motivation but haven’t seen anything I like yet.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Afterwards I stopped at Quenchers a fresh fruit/veggie bar that also has water, sports drinks, bars, and smoothies. This place is conveniently located in our gym. I looked VERY sketchy taking photos today so this was all I could get!
I then headed to The Refectory Cafe: A ‘Green Cafe’ on my school campus that uses local products, organic ingredients, recycled materials, and sustainable practices.  It’s so cute and green.
I got half of a veggie+hummus wrap, a slice of Zucchini Bread paired w/ some strawberries, pineapple and grapes from Quenchers.
I saved the strawberries for later. I wasn’t planning on getting anything sweet but Tina was calling for Friday Treat submissions so I figured why not.
I’ve got some healthy snacks that I got today on campus to show ya later!
Loving the food choices you have there! Lol, I always feel like such a weirdo taking photos… I’m scared they will arrest me or something!
I totally miss spin classes – my new gym doesn’t offer them.
That zucchini bread looks amazing!!
Wow. What great group fitness activities Duke has available. SF has a great bootcamp workout, but that’s the only group fitness class we have.
I am jealous of Duke and their awesome cafes and fitness class. The fitness classes at my school are less than stellar, but I still want to try to take one this semester! I am getting one credit for taking yoga though, excited to try that out!
I got caught in a torrential downpour today too! And then 5 min later, Mr. Sunshine came out and dried up all the rain. :)
Don’t you just love August?
Great job on the run today love. And kudos to you for taking it easy and building it up in a healthy mehtod. You will get your groove back in no time!
What GORGEOUS pictures! I’m so jealous. When I was in college (er, um about 10 years ago) the choices were NOT so healthy.
