**Edited to add: My $100 [totally unfair] parking ticket was dismissed as a warning by the Appeals Committee!!! Amount due: $0.00. I was starting to think of how much 100 buckeroos was in groceries and got extremely sad. Thank goodness!
I got a piece of candy in Financial Accounting today for “laughing uncontrollably” at the professor’s joke. The OCD one…remember him? He wore a bowtie and suspenders today
The joke WAS pretty funny, I thought…and/or I’m a laugher!
I’m trying to write this as fast (and best) as I can because I am about to hop in the shower and meet up with Sarah to go watch Food Inc.…FINALLY!!
The morning sun came too soon. Breakfast was 1/3 of a honey dew (3 for $5 at WFs!), Oikos 0% Plain Greek Yogurt with Greens+ Omega 3 Chia Seeds, and Spring Blend coffee.

I ate this bar that I got from WFs yesterday during golf because my classes were back to back. We watched a goofy and pretty entertaining video explaining the rules and etiquette of the game of golf.

I found it on the shelves just browsing around. The ingredients looked pretty legit and by legit, I mean whole) and satiating so I thought I’d give it a whirl!
For the whole bar (no pun intended haha): 260 calories, 9g fat (the healthy kind!), 40g carbs, 6g dietary fiber, 6g protein.

It was a crumbly/cakey texture. Not as moist as Larabars and Clif Bars but still quite chewy.

For my second ‘lunch’ I hit up the salad bar at our dining hall. They just keep getting me with this eggplant!!!
Inside…err on top?
-Eggplant, of course
-Cottage cheese (tasted like 4%)
-Red peppers, 1 cucumber slice
-Edamame beans, Garbanzo beans
-1 Pita wedge w/ a dollop of red pepper hummus
-Sliced hard-boiled egg
-Balsamic vinaigrette dressing

This combination was perty darn good, folks! I tried to include some beans and eggs because I haven’t been eating as much meat lately and I need me some amino acids!
Then I had another class before I headed to the gym for a short workout–20 min. on the elliptical and 5 min. of jumping jacks (whew!). I also rolled out my lower back and shins with a foam roller (ouchie). I’ve been working out at the gym less because I’ve been SPEED walking several miles every day around campus. I used to live about 5 min. from everything on main campus last year so I didn’t walk much but this year I am living farther away. I enjoy walking a lot so I never take the bus. BUT that also means I’ve been sweatin’ like it’s 96 degrees F outside….oh wait IT IS.
I came home to find 2 of my [cheaper] textbooks from Amazon Marketplace (woohoo) and immediately made me a H-Dew GM.
Inside?
-1/2 banana
-1/2 cup almond milk
-Bite of Pom Wonderful Pomegranate Juice
-4 bites worth of honey dew

Okay time to get clean! I’m doing some major Google Reader-ing this weekend…FINALLY!

YAY for the dismissal!! food inc is great, you will love. it is that hot here too! i am ready for cooler temps. that bar looks like a brick. but glad it delivered for you. nice speedy workout action! have fun at the flick!
Haha good to hear that you got that ticket dismissed. UGA is pretty stingy about that stuff so if it was me, I would’ve probably paid more.
Great deal on the h-dews!
YAY about your parking ticket!
Next time you should put the yogurt and chia IN the hole in the honeydew! It’s like a bowl but less dishes to wash :]
Have fun at Food Inc. It’s definitely a real attention grabber and will keep you amazed throughout. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts.
Okay, what kind of school is this? I must say, you are one lucky girl. I remember how amazing your lunches looked during your summer job and now school lunches looks even better. Where are you finding these places? lol
Yay! So happy for you that you got your ticket dismissed … phew!
Enjoy watching Food, Inc!!
Love me some honeydew! And congrats on the ticket dismissal! That’s great news…
That’s awesome about the ticket!!
Food, Inc was great. Enjoy!
Whoohoo! No parking tickets!
If you like Food Inc, you should watch King Corn. Both of those movies opened my eyes to how messed up the regulation of the food industry is.
Have a great night!
that bar looks great!!! we definitely don’t have them up here! Food Inc rocks!! and yay for sticking it to the man (ie parking)
so glad to you that you saved $100!!! (although it’s common that they don’t actually make you pay when it’s the first time). I know how it feels, i’ve been through parking ticket MANY MANY times!
hahaha…..
I like your breakfast combo! such a fresh start!
Congrats on getting out of the ticket! Good looking salad too!
Ooh! Where is Food Inc playing in Durham? I still have yet to see it.
I’m glad you are free of parking ticket
ALSO! OMG THE ROASTED EGGPLANT AT THE SALAD BAR! I am a pretty big fan of their sweet potatoes too. And yesterday they had some AMAZING cucumber feta tomato onion salad thing. Or was that the day before yesterday?
Anyway… my only gripe about our salad bar is the limited salad dressing types. Out of like, 5 choices, 3 of them are fat free! Balsamic vin, italian, and that raspberry vinnaigrette. WHAT GIVES.
Yayyy for $100 in Greek yogurt!! (Or whatever else you choose to spend the money that you could have on the parking ticket!)
I really think my school missed out on the dining hall business…yours looks so much better!
wooo! so happy the ticket got waived! ah, such a relief
LOVE your salad…edemame has all the aminos so don’t worry too much
Enjoy Food Inc (and the WEEKEND! Hope you have some fun unwinding stuff planned!)
Good for you for fighting the man!! Doesn’t it feel so good when you raise your voice and advocate for yourself!? Love it.
All your meals today look awesome. That melon and the eggplant! So good. I’m with you on needing to put more protein/amino in my foods. I realized I have been way less whole grains and protein than I need I think. Lots of veggies (good), dairy (eh) and processed foods (not good!). Major diet overhaul coming. Thanks for making me realize this!
I also really like your trick you talked about a few posts ago about how you make your meals last for 15-20 minutes. I’ve been trying to watch the clock and do that. I read that the average American meal lasts for 7 mins. Crazy!
$100 ticket! Ouch!! Glad it was dismissed! Phew!
Your eats look awesome, the salad especially!! Yum! Enjoy Food Inc. I can’t wait to see it! You’ll have to let us know if you enjoyed it!
have a fabulous weekend!
Yay that you don’t have to pay the ticket! Have fun at Food, Inc. I have been meaning to go myself!
Yay, I knew that ticket would be cleared
That note was seriously convincing (and true!).
The eggplant dish looks mighty tasty!!! Mmmm
Woohoo I get all my textbooks from Amazon too!! Sooo much cheaper =)
