I’m lovin’ being at home! Surprised, anyone? It’s like the summer again
The stress subsided upon stepping foot in the door (thank goodness) and it’s just so much easier relaxing at home. There isn’t as much of a ‘go go go at all times’ mentality when I’m here. Can I please stay?
I brought my Magic Bullet home because I wanted to show my Momma just how magical it is! I made a green random mix of ingredients smoothie. I had to piece together what I could find in the cupboards…

Inside:
-1/4 cup Plain Kefir
-1 TBSP Wheat Grass Powder
-1/2 scoop of Alive! Ultra-Shake
-1/4 cup of Naked Berry Blast
-1/2 banana

I liked it! I was missing the spinachy taste but I liked the addition of kefir. I will definitely be getting some of this if when I head back down to school. It was quite thick and goopy

My daddy-o bought some guava because he knew I was coming home! I <3 guava, A LOT! I think it’s because the texture is similar to that of apples and pears, but I’m allergic to those. Boo.

You can eat the rind and seeds…and you should! The center is the softer, sweeter part of the fruit.

Fun facts about this Carribean fruit:
-Guavas has more vitamin C than oranges.
-Guavas are also high in vitamin A, fiber, calcium, vitamin B2, folate, potassium, copper, and manganese

The agenda for today was a massive shopping trip with my aunt and uncle that took all day: 1) outlet shopping 2) Costco and 3) Trader Joe’s. So I knew I needed some more substance.
A slice of whole wheat bread with almond butter and banana slices:

I didn’t buy anything at the outlets. I don’t need anything and I’d rather spend my money on food
I ate a bunch of samples at Costco (best part!) and also snacked on this new product!
TJ’s Apple Clusters:

They’re made with chopped apples and apple juice. They remind me of cheese balls, hehe.

I also picked this up from Costco: Sun-Ripened Mixed [Dried] Fruit. No sugar added, woohoo! So we can make granola without having to buy 3-4 different bags of dried fruit.

This bag contains dried apples, dried peaches, dried pears (yum), dried apricots, and dried plums.

I went down to the gym for 60 min. on the elliptical. There was nothing interesting on TV so I watched my default channel–The Food Network.
My fam requested that I make pizza tonight (the last time I made one, it ended up face-planted on the floor).
Ingredients:
-TJ’s whole wheat dough
-TJ’s pizza sauce
-Roma tomato slices
-TJ’s Quattro Formaggio Cheese
-TJ’s Feta Cheese
-Sliced white mushrooms
-Fresh basil leaves
Pre-oven:

I guess I should have put the basil leaves on at the end…oopsies!

Mmmmmm

Alrighty, time to pretend to do my homework...home-what!?

I loooooved going home when I was in college. It definitely upset me to head back to school because of how much I loved going home. Gotta love mom’s home cooking!
Sounds like you’re having a good weekend!
What a fantastic smoothie! It’s been far too long since I had kefir.
I’ve never tried guava, but you’re making me think I should change that…
Guavas sound like the new super food, right up there with blueberries! Actually this whole post is full of super foods! Get your homework done silly girl!
White guavas are the best. I like them better than the red ones.
it’s so good to be at home!!! so glad that you’re enjoying it a lot!

you really like dry fruits, don’t you?!
Fun shopping places, my favorites!
I’ve never tried guava. Looks good. And so does your pizza! Enjoy your time home…
yayyy – glad you’re enjoying your time at home. I don’t think I’ve ever had fresh guava (only the juice!). Sounds yummy though. I want to try those apple clusters- I think both Josh and I would love those!
I know what you mean about the stress level going down once you go back home…however, for me, it also means the hunger level goes UP. This is because my family always has lots of sweets and good eats in the house…and I cannot control myself. Eeeek! This weekend has been bad for me “healthy eating” wise…I have had atleast 3 desserts a day.
haha i love that your smoothie was in the jungle! and that pizza is a knockout, anything with cheese and basil is a winner. glad you are enjoying your time at home!
Glad you are having fun at home!
How far do you live from school? I’ve had guava flavoured stuff, but don’t think I’ve even SEEN a fresh guava! I need to look. Those apple things sound awesome

Damn, your pizza’s looking good!
I love guava – we had a couple trees in our yard. We’d climb those trees when we were kids. I haven’t had a guava in a looong time!
I am with you – I’d rather spend my moolah on food. Not clothes, not shoes, food baby!
mmmmmm I get really really jealous anytime I see someone with a magic bullet! I want one soo badly!
I’ve never tried a guava before…I know, fruit blasphemy! But it always has kind of scared me for some reason. Maybe after reading this I’ll give it a try!!
