Happy 29th Anniversary to my Poppa and Momma! <3 <3 <3

Note to self:
1. Just because it’s freezing in your apartment , unless you want to sweat as much as you did in hot yoga, don’t wear leggings and a long sleeve shirt to walk 2 miles in the morning to class.
2. You may be compelled to pop out your food in the MIDDLE of the business school (where real professionals can see you) because it’s a good spot to take photos of your food. That’s okay, as long as it looks like what you’re doing is totally normal, others will believe it too.
3. Your obsession with carrot baked goods will only get more serious. It’s a fact of life.
4. You still cannot eat within 4 hours of running because you will get dagger-sharp stomach cramps.
5. Life just handed you another paper and exam for next week. Have fun this weekend.
Breakfast
Green Tea Monster w/ kefir, papaya, strawberries, spinach, and green tea

Banini (haha get it?!): Banana+ almond butter+ raisins

A bite of a carrot cake Clif bar. Best flavor ever? Perhaps.

Then I went to read scenarios and answer questions for 15 min. in exchange for $8.

Lunch Cramp-Causer!
I was hippo-hungry but had no idea what I wanted. So I picked up some things that spoke to me
Honey dew melon, roasted sweet potatoes, and……dun dun dun…..


I also got a Carrot Raisin Walnut Muffin from an on-campus eatery that uses cage free eggs and organic flour. I remember one of my friends last year was complaining that the muff had strings of carrot inside….I’m sure you can imagine how fast I BOLTED over to get one.
This was heavenly. So moist and filled with walnuts and stringy carrot pieces (YES!). I can’t believe it took me 5 weeks this semester to get one! I had 1/2 as part of my lunch and saved 1/2 for dessert!

Treadmill Bonding Time
After classes I headed over to the gym for some good ol’ treadmill bonding time. My stomach wasn’t grumbling so I KNEW it was bad news. That rando lunch really head me over well…too well!! It had been 3 hours since I ate but every with every step the dagger-sharp cramps got more and more severe. ARGH!! I was feeling so comfortable running too!!
So I stopped after 2 miles
My pace was about 0.2 mi/hr faster though! I attribute that to my outdoor run+walk+run+walk on Saturday. I then hopped on the elliptical for another 30 minutes.
I was famished upon walking in the door. I was way more fueled for my workout and not only punished with cramps but shaking with hunger?! Usually I have an emptier stomach and I am barely hungry afterwards. Weirdness.
Dinner
My roommate made this amazing Brown Rice Pilaf with feta cheese, garbanzo beans, red onions, peppers, olive oil and cilantro (I think). It was fantabulous!! I ate about 2x the amount in the photo while compiling my plate!!!

I also made a quick Mango Salsa with:
- 1/3 garbanzo beans
- 1/2 cup mango chunks (fresh!)
- 1/2 jar of salsa (I would have made if I had more time!)
- 1/4 cup chopped red onion
- 1/3 cup avocado chunks
- Sprinkle of black pepper
- YUM
All mixed together and voila!

Served with a bed of lettuce and broccoli slaw.

I had every food group on this plate!!!
Dessert=The other half of the carrot muff!! Still just as tastilicious after sitting in my backpack all day
Alrighty, it’s work time peeps!! I thought it was Thursday all day long so tomorrow’s gonna feel like Friday when it’s really not!!!!! DOUBLE WAAAH!!

To answer your questions:
1. I love banana nut, blueberry, and oatmeal muffins. All very yummy!
2. I do take pics of my food wherever I might be… it’s not too bad for me if I’m out and about because I can always use my iPhone if I’m concerned.
3. I try to wait at the very least half an hour, or I DO end up with side stitches in no time!

Funn, Chris told me he saw someone taking pictures of their food at Fuqua today. Must have been you! Tee hee… KIDDING!
1. My favorite muffin flavor is cinnamon & sugar
2. I whip out my camera in odd places, but only if appropriate
3. I usually wait 1/2 hour to an hour after I eat to run, but it totally depends on what I eat! On a Sat. I can eat a piece of toast with PB and be out the door 1/2 hour later. But if I had a full dinner I would need at least an hour to digest.
1. I loveeeeee carrot cake/carrot muffins! Is that from the refectory? YUM. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad muffin on campus. They’re all delicious no matter where I go. hahaha.
3. I have a tummy of STEEL… as long as my tummy is full, I can run… even if it means eating 15min beforehand. I hate running while hungry ;p

I love all your notes to self–very important realizations there. You certainly got your beta carotene today–carrot muffin and roasted sweet potatoes! Those potatoes from the GH salad bar are so good. I should take after you and go just to get them, sans salad.
1. I am a big fan of banana or pumpkin muffins. Heck, they’re good together too.
2. I get some strange looks when I whip out my camera at the airport;)
3. I eat a half of a PB sandwich about 15 min before I run, and I’ve never had a problem!

My tummy is the SAME way with running. I just cannot run with much in it or I feel majorly awful. Love the Banini (what a cute name). I totally take random pictures out wherever we are. I feel like its becoming more acceptable…or maybe I just feel more comfortable haha.

I can’t run with any food in stomach. Not even a banana. I don’t what I’m going to do when I start my long runs. I guess I’ll figure it out when the time comes
My favorite muffins are coffee cake muffins. I just like the tops though.

9/10 times i’ll choose bran! Yum! As long as they’re very moist.. hate dry muffins.. yuck!

Yah I will, but I have a DSLR, (Nikon D90) so it’s kinda big & chunky, so I don’t bring it everywhere with me.
3) How long do you have to wait after eating before you run?
I’ll eat a good hour before I workout usually.

My favorite flavor of muffin has to be pumpkin, but I also really love coffee cake type things and chocolate.
I mostly just take pictures of my food at home so I guess it really isn’t as weird for me. Although I did get busted once for taking pictures in Whole Foods. It makes me giggle to think about it now.
I like to wait about an hour or so after eating before I’ll head out for a run(or just working out).

that’s crazy you have to wait so long after you eat, i usually have to eat with in two hours of running. different strokes for different folks, mmhmm.
