Good News & Cool Stuff

I’m a little bit emotional (sad) and a lot-a-bit burned out tonight (hence the plain post title) so you’ll have to bare with me. I’ve got good news and cool stuff though so let’s get started, shall we?

I honestly had verrrry little food in my pantry/fridge this morning so breakfast looks a wee bit familiar. I had a classic Banini. I don’t think it’s possible for me to get sick of this!! Even though I’ve had one of these every day this week, there were still audible ‘Mmmms’ coming out of me this morning :)

IMG_6815.JPG

I brought this Green Monster to class because I snoozed 1 too many times this morning and didn’t have time to gulp it down while getting ready! It was a daring move on my part :) I wonder what people thought I was gurgling!!!

IMG_6818.JPG

I learned the golf swing today in Golf class. Let’s just say I have a new found [extremely high level of] respect for Tiger + friends. Those guys sure make it look easy and graceful. I felt like I was hacking crops on a farm!!! I trust this gets easier with practice?

WHOOSH! <–the sound of flying sweat beads due to anxiety NOT the smooth motion of my golf club :) .

My 3rd class for the day did not meet so I got the afternoon off! Where did I go you ask!? You know it!!!

First stop: Whole Foods Market!

I got some lunch at the hot bar (after eating some random samples) because I was h-h-hungry!

  • Spicy Thai dressing
  • Tempeh (I wanted to buy some but I figured I would try it beforehand just to see how it tasted! I was a tempeh virgin before this meal!!!!)
  • Beans+Corn
  • Peppers
  • Lettuce
  • Portobello mushrooms
  • Sun-dried tomato
  • Feta cheese
  • Dried cranberries

IMG_6822.JPG

Next up: Trader Joe’s (holy smokes it had been far too long).

  • Kefir x2
  • Greek Style Yogurt
  • Almond Butter
  • Fancy Berry Medley
  • Acorn squash (!!!!!)
  • Avocado
  • 3 Bananas

IMG_6827.JPG

There’s more…

  • Organic Butternut Squash Puree (!!!!)
  • Twigs, Flakes & Clusters Cereal
  • Raw Pecan Pieces
  • Organic 3-Grain Tempeh
  • Whole Grain Tortillas
  • Dark Chocolate Crisps (!!!!)

IMG_6828.JPG

I jumped when I saw these tortillas w/ rolled oats AND flax seeds!!!! I see many many wraps in my future :) .

IMG_6830.JPG

Prior to today I was a tempeh virgin. I liked the chunks I tried at Whole Foods though so I picked some up to experiment with this weekend. GOT ANY GOOD RECIPES AND/OR IDEAS!?

IMG_6831.JPG

The texture was a bit different than I expected but it was pretty fun and chewy. I’m still getting used to the veggie life or rather the pesca life (?) since I’m still eating seafood from time to time.

IMG_6832.JPG

I’ve been having the biggest chocolate cravings this week (they can probably be explained by the same reason why I’m moody/sad right now). Yep.

IMG_6833.JPG

Oh man, ONCE YOU POP YOU JUST CAN’T STOP! Remember those Pringles commercials? Yeah, these popped at light speed!

I spread almond butter on them with a slice of banana….HOLY ALSJDLASJDLKS!!!! Sorry no photo!!!!

IMG_6839.JPG

I got a can of THIS to make some muffins!!! Inspiration from Erica’s latest creation :)

IMG_6835.JPG

I noshed on some of my new cereal (it took me SO long to decide on a box this time!!). I had it with some k-k-kefir!

IMG_6841.JPG

Next stop: Super Target!! I got these beautimous plates for $1.99 each! I got sick of using the  only 2 colored plates I own (the orange ones that you’ve been seeing every meal haha). Check out the leaf plate!!! FALL! COLORFUL LEAVES!!! YAY!

IMG_6842.JPG

And a super snazzy tumbler to shake up my Green Monster photos and an ice cream (aka kefir, yogurt, tart froyo) glass that was on clearance!!!

IMG_6845.JPG

I went to a Body Tone class tonight. Today was NOTHING like Tuesday. It was sunny yet I had to drag every square inch of my body to the gym. It took me an hour to decide if I wanted to workout at all! Frankly, all I felt like doing was baking MUFFINS :) But I need to get some consistent strength training in my schedule so I figured it was easier to take the class than do it on my own!

Dinner was random bites of random things. It happens right?! I’m feeling really off tonight. I have a lot of work to do right now and there is music blasting and jibber jabber so loud my laptop is shaking! I have ear plugs in but it’s not working. Our apartment might as well not have walls in it. Okay the end. I’ll get over it. Thanks for listening to my BS.

OH I ALMOST FORGOT THE GOOD NEWS!!! I got a 30/35 on my Financial Accouting exam!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s an 85.7%. Okay, that is not the highest grade in the book and not really much to be proud of but I studied my little tail off for that exam and I’m so relieved I didn’t FAIL!

Alright time to get to work. I JUST might have to go to the library (at 10pm) because I feel like I am at a RAGER right now!!!!!

Yaaaay for doing well on your exam!

Whoa, your TJ’s has some awesome stuff. First, you had 100% ww pizza, now you have tempeh and whole grain tortillas??? East coasters get all the goodies =P I have had good tempeh, but I can’t say that I love it the way I made it at home (using ED&BV’s recipe and it was just ok). I hear it’s great with bragg’s though, if you have it on hand!

Oooh, I love those plates. I need to buy some pretty plates myself :)

I hope you feel better (from being off)!

sorry you’re having a bad day :( its been kinda an off week for me too, hence the lack of enthusiasm when bumping itno you at the great hall tonight… hahaha

ONE MORE WEEK AND FALL BREAK! <3

GREAT job on the exam!

Your banini’s are inspiring me. I think I might try one this weekend. Probably on Sunday. I’ll report back what I thought. Do you just do pb and banana?

Grilled banana sammies are the best–I like mine with the Cinnamon Swirl PB from PB & Co. Love your cute name–yay banini!
Tempeh virgin? Gasp! I highly recommend the Turtle Island pre-marinated ones.
Yeah for the b-nut squash…looking forward to baking with it tomorrow!
OK, this is seriously ridiculous. I have that SAME red leaf plate.

It looks like you hit the jackpot today! Look at all those yummy groceries! I’ve never had tempeh either, and I’m not even really sure what it is…

Congrats on the hard work paying off grade-wise! I bet you feel a little (…okay, maybe a lot) relieved.

You just went on my dream shopping spree. I think I’m just going to ask for gift cards to Whole Foods, TJ’s, and Target for Christmas this year.
Great job on the exam!
What is kefir? I’m starting to see it pop up all over the blog world. It’s the new chia seeds!

Mmmm Whole Fiz and TJ’s in one day?? Amazing!

I have those TJ’s wraps and they are super yummy. And those TJ’s chocolate crisps are next on my list to covet. You always find the best stuff!!

I just wanted to bring something to your attention:
“Okay, that is not the highest grade in the book and not really much to be proud of but I studied my little tail off for that exam and I’m so relieved I didn’t FAIL!”

Hi, excuse me, bossy Big Girl here. You remove that “not much to be proud of” statement RIGHT NOW!! You should TOTALLY be proud or yourself! You studied really hard and put forth a great effort to EARN that grade. And it’s extremely far from failing! I am proud of you and you should be proud of that grade! You go, smarty pants :)

Oh lady, I hope you are feeling better! Congrats on your grade – that’s awesome! Accounting was never my strong point, so I would have been thrilled with that grade. Nice job! Glad you bought some tempeh and that you liked it. Make sure you steam it or cook it thoroughly before eating it. I steamed mine in the micro for 5 min. but I was told by a former Food Network employee to steam it for like 30 min (think she as doing it in a steamer on the stove). Then she said to soak it in OJ and then pan fry it. I tend to use Asian inspired items – soy, garlic, rice vinegar, scallions, maybe some black bean paste. Let me know how it turns out :)

Hi J, when I was younger I couldn’t say my name (Beverley) properly so I would say Banini instead. Now that I’m older I’ve named my baby linen company Banini. Check it out at http://www.baninibaby.com... now off to make myself a banini!
