On Sunday night I got an email from Coco offering me the opportunity to be this week’s Blogger Secret Ingredient Host! What an honor
Thanks for the offer, Coco!
Without further adieu I have chosen (you probably could have guessed it)…

.
I wanted to choose an ingredient that everyone would have relatively easy access to (hopefully!). If you do not have almond butter, feel free to use any other nut butter as they are usually easily exchangeable in recipes!!

Almond butter is one of my favorite foods and I eat it practically every day–in the form of almond butter banana sandwiches (you know it!). It is high in [healthy] fat, fiber and protein and thus, keeps me satiated throughout the day. Almond butter is such a versatile ingredient–it can be used in both sweet and savory dishes. The possibilities are endless!!!
Here are some ideas to get the creative juices flowin’:
- Baked goods–muffins, bars, cookies, breads, fudge, etc.
- Smoothies
- Pasta/noodle sauces
- Sandwiches/wraps
I especially love to use almond butter when I bake! Here are my Aprican Almond Butter Bites that were auctioned off at the Healthy Living Summit Bake Sale to benefit The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

I hope you have a blast brainstorming a super-cool-fantastic recipe and making it…(and eating it, duh)!!! So? Whatcha waitin’ for? Your favorite jar of almond butter is waiting for you!!
I look forward to seeing what you creative people come up with! You all never cease to amaze me with your scrumptious creations! Thanks in advance for participating
