Good News

I got the position as Recruitment Counselor–woo hoo! I love recruitment but I just don’t think I have the energy to put 100% of my heart and soul into it this year. You know, since I’m on the way out and all. While I feel like I will miss out on a lot of good ol’ bonding, it will mean that I won’t have to go through super exhausting days and nights. I’m also pretty excited to meet some youngins :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last night I made a quick trip to Whole Foods (not TJs because it is a little farther away…sad). It had gone a whole 48 HOURS without yogurt and I was going a little crazy craze!!
I grabbed my Oikos Coupons!
IMG_8036.JPG
My purch from left to right:
  • Kefir
  • Canned Pumpkin
  • Van’s Waffles (on $ale!!)
  • Organic Extra Firm Tofu
  • Oikos Greek Yogurt (FREE!)
  • Bulk Carob Chips
  • Bulk Carob Covered Almonds
  • 3 Dried Turkish Figs
  • Pomegranate (on $ale!!)
  • Brown Cow Plain Yogurt (on $ale!!)
IMG_8039.JPG
I immediately demolished the carob covered almonds!! Carob has such an interesting (in a good way) taste! YUM!
Breakfast
This morning was all about shoveling in food! It took me 3x as long to make coffee and breakfast than to eat it! I had a Vans Waffle with almond butter, pumpkin, pecans, banana, and yogurt. Ya can’t see all the layers but they’re there. I also had more yogurt but it wasn’t perty enough for the pic.
IMG_8042.JPG
Mmmm…too bad I had to eat it in about 3 1/2 minutes flat!
IMG_8048.JPG
I brought the Aprican Almond Butter Bite with me to eat during Golf. The Brown Cow Plain Yogurt was alright, but it just wasn’t the same as my TJ’s European Style Yogurt :( :( :(
The Duke University Golf Club was doing repairs on the course so we spent the class period driving in golf carts to various holes and going over some rules. It was an absolutely gorgeous day and a breathtaking Golf Course!! We normally practice at the range so this was quite a treat.
IMG_8052.JPG
Between Golf and my 3rd class, I hit up the gym for 55 min. on the elliptical and 15 min. of abs and stretching. I like getting in my workout during the earlier part of the day so I don’t end up skimping out on it later. So glad I went!
Afterwards I grabbed some fruit to hold me over. The fruit wasn’t looking too great so I only got a little bit of mango, pineapple and grapes.
IMG_8054.JPG
I came back from class famished so I quickly made a salad w/ more leftovers. I finally used up the wheat berries I made almost 2 weeks ago and the mini peppers (sad).
IMG_8062.JPG
The Wheat Berry Salad included onions, peppers, goat cheese and olive oil. YUM. A little olive oil surely goes a long way–It added so much flavor!!
IMG_8065.JPG
I also had an almond butter stuffed dried Turkish fig with some carob chips=WOAH!!
IMG_8068.JPG
Yep….
IMG_8076.JPG
Now I’m off to an Ashtanga Yoga class at the gym. I know I know I know, I need to do some major work but right now but I have been in such a funk today. I NEED to calm my mind and realize my life is not in shambles (although it may seem that way). Yoga always does the trick!
Then I’ve got hours upon hours of sorority meetings. I’ll probably pack a granola bar, 1/2 a pumpkin muffin, and whatever else I can get my hands on!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dear Thanksgiving Break,

Please come sooner. Thanks.

Love Always,

Allie

I actually go home 1 month from today for THANKSGIVING BREAK!!! Can’t wait!!! It’s one of my fave holidays :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I PROMISE I’ll show you what was in the box tomorrow!!! PINKY PROMISE!! Sorry to leave you hanging–I need some time to write about it and I haven’t had much of that today!!
Allie? I’m jealous of your energy! Seriously, how do you manage to fit all of your activities into your day? You amaze me! BTW, your little note was so cute! You know how to make me smile. Break will be here soon, Allie! Keep holdin’ on!
I need you to come house/car/anything shopping with me. Every time I see you buy stuff you find great deals!
The Duke golf course looks beautiful. When I’m playing like crap, I like driving the golf cart around more than actually playing. Always fun. Creative stuff with the dinner too btw! I hate leftovers but you seem to have no problems coming up with a dish.
I seriously don’t know how you do all that cardio. Need your energy/motivation. I usually get bored after 1 mile. Meh.
Congrats on getting the job! Enjoy it. I don’t know how you could go 48 whole hours without your beloved… I know I’d be struggling.
Congrats Allie! That is wonderful news. I hope this turns out to be an amazing experience for you.
Ooo, 2 days without yogurt…that’s rough. I’ve been making a point to have it at least once a day. It really does make my day entirely better. I promise it does! ;)
Take care loves!
Oh man… I was so looking forward to what was in the box tonight :)
Congrats on your recruitment counselor position! Does a Turkish fig taste different than a regular fig? And by regular I mean the ones that taste like the center of a fig newton :)
Conrats on your new job! It sounds really exciting :)
I love carob chips, and I often eat them by the handful as well. There is something about them that makes them addicting, but I’m sure you know what I mean!
Congratulations on getting the job! That’s exciting :)
I grew up eating carob chips, but haven’t had them in at least 5 or 6 years. I’m thinking I need to get me some!!!
I’ve never heard of a Turkish fig. After your concoction, I’m thinking I need to get some and recreate that!!
Just curious why you prefer carob over dark chocolate (i.e. carob covered almonds)? : )
