SURPRISE!!!!

Meet Garmy the Garmin!!!

IMG_8011.JPG

(This was the package I received on Monday if you haven’t already guessed) I’ve been using Garmy the last 2 days, desperately wanting to tell you ALL the good news!

About 2 weeks ago, I found her on eBay going for a decent price (A LOT cheaper than the retail price). So I placed a bid quite impulsively (it was late at night!) thinking that I wouldn’t actually win the auction. 12 hours later, Garmy was mine for keeps!

I have been thinking about getting a Garmin for MONTHS now and I’ve been saving up my earnings from teaching lessons and business school experiments/surveys. So it wasn’t really an impulse buy at all!

Come to think of it, I really haven’t spent much money on myself (minus groceries). So early Thanksgiving and Christmas prezzie? I think that works :)

It didn’t come in a box with a manual, which was a little bit hard for me to get over, haha. I like being the first person to touch an item out of the box!! The product was brand new though…phew!

The manual can be found as a PDF online though so no worries!

It was a little bit confusing to use at first but I’m getting the hang out it. The grey ring is a touch pad, which is pretty snazzy. I agree with some of the reviews online though, the two bezel buttons on the side can get kind of annoying. You have to push both at the same time to lock it, but it’s rather difficult to push them both down at the same exact time.

All in all, I’m a pretty happy camper. I love being able to look down at my wrist and know my <3 rate!! There are also some cool features that I didn’t even know it had. I haven’t been on a run with Garmy yet (shin pain!!) but hopefully my legs will be up for a run tomorrow! I’ll let you know how it goes.

I’ll be back tomorrow morning with a recap of today’s eats!

She’s pretty. I have been looking at Garmin’s off and on. Right now I just use a simple heart rate monitor, but eventually I’d like to invest in something more.

I’ve been hearing a lot about those! I don’t think I run enough to even worry about one, but it’s definitely something I will consider purchasing when I start to run more in the future!

Yay for Garmy! What a great way to treat yourself. I received a HRM for my bday this year and I swear, it is the best present I ever got. I can’t imagine even taking a walk without it now.

Enjoy the fun this will bring you! :)

Welcome to the blog world Garmy! :)

Speaking of packages – any sign on that Glee Gum? I think I have got to shoot them an email, if you haven’t – seems like it’s been awhile.

Hey Allie! And hi Garmy! Wish I had one of those. I’ve been away so long; I missed a lot of your posts.
I saw some Kefir candies at the grocery and I thought of you! I’m sure it’s all artificial stuff though. :s

Hey just wondering what model you have; your post made me want to get one too! And also why did you choose the garmin over similar products such as the bodybugg and fitbit? I wished I had bought one of those products back at Duke (I graduated) so I could measure how far I have to walk to class and explain to professors why I’m always late lol.
