Finals Comfort Fare

I’m engaging in illegal blogging right now, so I’ve gotta make it lickety split! More photos, less yapping, more studying, less procrastinating. My textbooks are awaiting my return so here we go!

I haven’t gone on a real grocery shopping trip to restock my kitchen because I am going home on Friday. So, I’ve been eating some of the same things the last couple of days. I did however get 4 products to help me along…and comfort me :)

First up, Cranberry Creme Brulee Kefir. Oh YES!!! Believe whatcha see!

IMG_9803.JPG

With hemp granola and banana slices.

IMG_9813.JPG

Next we have an Ezekiel Cinnamon Raisin English Muffin w/ a new (to me) almond butter and banana slices.

IMG_9808.JPG IMG_9807.JPG

I wanted to get a huge jar of Maranatha Almond Butter from Costco (the best deal around), but I left the membership card at home, so I got a new to me brand: Blue Diamond Almond Butter Creamy. Just almonds and salt in the ingredients.

I also got my favorite Ezekiel Cinnamon Raisin English Muffins. Now THIS is my kind of comfort food :)

IMG_9817.JPG

I KNOW you got excited by my kefir earlier and scrolled down as fast as you could to see where it came from. Here she is:

IMG_9820.JPG

Not gonna lie, it’s pretty damn fabulous. It was on sale at Whole Foods this week so I figured I’d give flavored kefir a shot (literally ha ha ha get it? Shot…shot glass….).

I usually get plain because it doesn’t have the added sugar, but who can pass up a seasonal flavor like this one!?

IMG_9821.JPG

Still has all my health favorite benefits. Read more about my love for kefir in my post, Krazy for Kefir.

IMG_9822.JPG

I whipped out the Ezekiel again before heading to the gym.  I topped it with butternut squash, brie cheese, and pecans. This is a winning combo, I’m tellin’ ya!

IMG_9824.JPG

Sweet and Salty!!

IMG_9827.JPG

Last night, I needed the comfort of the Whole Foods Salad Bar. My Whole Foods consumption always increases come finals week. There’s something about a big box/bowl of veggies topped with samples of this and that.

My ‘this and that’ included: tofu, broccoli w/ mayo, winter squash casserole, roasted carrots, beets, red cabbage, roasted veggies, mushrooms, and some spicy Thai dressing.

IMG_9837.JPG

And some bubbly…

IMG_9840.JPG

Mr. Comfort made another appearance this morning.   I spread some almond butter, microwaved banana slices, and cinnamon on top.

IMG_9844.JPG

So warm and delightful. So comforting.

IMG_9848.JPG

I paired it with some hot Tazo Passion Tea. See my camera in the reflection!?

IMG_9843.JPG

IMG_9842.JPG

Post workout, I had dining hall salad bar fare. Whole Foods > Dining Hall

  • Sweet potato cubes
  • Eggplant
  • Tofu
  • Red peppers
  • Cucumber slices
  • Grape Tomatoes
  • AND Olive Oil and Herb Dressing

IMG_9854.JPG

That’s all folks! I feel like I’ve been gone for weeks, but it’s actually been 2 days haha. Time in the blog world moves at light speed. Light years…blog years??

I’ve got an exam tomorrow night, the dreaded Financial Accounting exam on Wednesday, and a paper/marketing plan due Thursday. I probably shouldn’t have posted tonight but I had too many photos on my camera to show you all!

Off to the library :(

Good luck with finals! Lucky you – you’re out a week before me! =P
And Whole Foods does have an amazing salad bar, but it’s awesome that your school’s salad bar has tofu, eggplant, and sweet potatoes. That’s unusual for most salad bars. Luckily, where I am going next year they have a whole room in the cafeteria for vegans/vegetarians! I am pumped! :D

That Keifer sounds phenomenal!

I adore that ALmond Butter. The honey flavor is also delicious. And I love that you are doing the banana mash now! Isn’t is sooooo yummy? The banana gets sooo much sweeter and actaully carmelizes when you mash it and heat it. mmm, fantastic!

Good luck with finals babe.

Both the dining hall salad and the Whole Foods salad look wonderful! What do you think of that almond butter? I keep seeing it the store, but haven’t bought it yet. It really looks yummy with banana on those Ezekial muffins. :)

I hope I can find that kefir! I really like all their flavored kinds, but yes, not a fan of the sugar either, so I haven’t bought them in a long time. Hope the rest of your week goes soooo well!

I will totally eat anything that is labeled “seasonal” on it. The marketing industry is SO smart.

I love that Poland Spring bubbly water too. I like to mix it with regs water, add some fruit, and pretend I am super fancy ;)

Good luck on the studying and tests girl! You’ll be great!

I have never had Kefir but that flavor sounds amazing – I need to go to Whole Foods and check it out.

I love Ezekiel English muffins – I don’t think I have ever seen the Cinnamon Raisin ones though. Perhaps another Whole Foods find?

Good luck with your finals – sounds like you are fueling well to keep you through.

Looks like good eats! We’re on the “leaving town in four days” meal plan here as well. It always prompts some interesting combinations :-)

Good luck on your exams– you’ll rock them! Just think how great you’ll feel when they’re all done :-)

Also– I just bought that blue diamond ab too…I wasn’t crazy about it, for whatever reason. Something about the texture was off for me. You’ll have to let me know what you think of it.

For as much as I rave about the cinnamon raisin Ezekiel BREAD, I have never tried the English muffins. They look pretty fab, especially with the new AB. I am pretty psyched to crack open my Costco jar of Maranatha when I get home though:)
That kefir looks crazy-good! Was that a WF purchase?
