I’m loving the snow. A lot. Except for 2 things:
1. I can’t return my Red Box DVD= $1 down the drain.
2. I couldn’t watch the Duke Basketball game at the gym!!! CBS SPORTS MOTHER $%&@#$ was broadcasting snow news over and over and over again in our area (GAH!!!). I went down at 4pm sharp ready for a heart pounding game and 5 min. later found myself back in my condo cursing up a storm. NOT COOL.
After 50 min. of tweeting CBS Sports and my mom calling them (no kidding!), we finally found it on some random Doppler Radar Channel.

I was pleasantly surprised to find so many other tweeters angry at CBS Sports hahaha.
This channel wasn’t on at the gym though, so I had to bring the gym to my condo for a makeshift workout. I did jumping jacks, body weight exercises, high knees, pushups, situps, dumbbell exercises, and other random things. During half time I went downstairs to run for 10 min. on the treadmill.
It definitely wasn’t the same but I still broke a sweat that’s for sure. Lesson learned: ESPN>CBS SPORTS

Snow Storm Update:
This is the view from our gym on the ground floor. I heard our area had around 20 inches as of 4pm. It’s still snowing now!!! We probably have ~2 feet!!!

View of the covered pool area:

This morning I had a kefir+yogurt bowl. I am so excited to hear that so many of you are trying this out!! Isn’t it spectacular?

Underneath the cereal is 1/2 a ripe banana and some pecans. You KNOW how much I hate wasting food. Poor little guy. He tasted great though!

I also had some homemade pumpkin spice coffee. I added pumpkin pie spice to my coffee grounds before brewing. IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM!!!!

Got this baby at TJ’s on clearance for 3 buckeroos!

Sittin’ in the snow. True story: I went out onto our snowy balcony to take this. I stepped barefoot in snow. Brrrrr!!! It was too appropriate with the snowman mug not to.

2 Clemens

Some pre-workout chocolate chips and a homemade Green Tea Latte.

I brewed green tea and added some almond milk and stevia. Mmmm.

After my CBS-ruined workout (yes, bitter), I roasted the kabocha squash my dad got for me.

Plus a salmon filet atop greens and a broccoli slaw salad.

I love when my Daddy makes the salmon nice and crispy. I had about twice that amount of salmon.

I made the broccoli slaw salad by tossing it in a Greek Yogurt+Tahini mixture and topped with dried cranberries and pecans.

I am so fiberfull from kabocha+skin!! However, my hand is still reaching into the bag of choco chips as we speak!! Gots to end on sweet

you’ve got some crazy snow there, girl! It’s been unusually tame here in Cleveland — I actually miss the snow!
hahah i love how were so efficient with your workout, running up and down (during halftime?!?! hahah) your apartment complex. I love your kefir yogurt mixes, but i’ve always done it with flavored kefir and plain yogurt with a splash of almond milk over the top to make it more watery. YUM!!! The banana isn’t a looker, but boy do i know how delicious black bananas are. YUM ripeness!!
You eat pretty darn well for a college student! Snowstorms are fun! Hope you had time to cuddle up for a movie…
I’m sorry you couldn’t watch the game like you wanted, but your story was hilarious. You tell ‘em Allie! I really have to pick up some tahini soon! I’ve been seeing yummy dressings constantly!
I’m loving your coleslaw.
what a sweet daddy for making you salmon!! and DANG that is a ton of snow!! im jelous tho-we have none here
you are a such a duke fan it’s so cute. i can’t get over how much snow we got. lucky you to have a gym in your condo. i can’t get out to the gym until the roads get better.
i too share your feeling on the green bananas. OF COURSE she is NOT better at life than you! hey! thats not right
psh. she is less outgoing than you. trust me.
Your ppie spice + coffee is a GENIOUS idea!!!!
wow… i meant GENIUS… it’s late and i’m tired
Jealous of your snow! Love the SNOWman mug pic – cute!
Nice work braving the cold and potential frostbite for a good blog picture! And yes, ending with a sweet is a MUST!
I know you are probably so tired of the snow you are getting, but please know that I am very jealous of that said snow. It’s so pretty.
PS-You are a better woman than I. I would have thrown that banana out long ago. If my bananas are even a hint of brown or black, its trash can or food for Eddie (my dog). I can’t stand the mush. I like them ripe ripe ripe.
i’m so jealous of your kabocha!!! I really miss it!
So, apparently, the entire east coast got snow except for my state
Guess it serves us right, we’re always gettin’ dumped on by snow!
We’re just getting hit by snow in Boston now. My apartment complex looks similar to yours.
The salad looks yummy!
The snow looks so pretty in North Carolina!! We are now getting a ton of it here in Massachusetts.
I love when they put the news on about the weather…okay, we all know it’s snowing. We looked outside. Calm down everyone…we need the TV to entertain us since we can’t go outside!
Sorry about the game! I don’t really watch sports, and I get all my news online… so much for news channels, haha. Right now, I’m begging for the snow not to melt!
I’ve never had plain kefir before, but it’s another fermented dairy product on my list of things to try.
And uh, WHAT? BAREFOOT in the snow?! I think I would get frostbite in like, two seconds flat. The things bloggers do!
Is that brand of tahini bitter, by the way?
Happy snowy Sunday. Hopefully it’ll be snowy Monday, too!
My gosh,
you are weathered down with the disastrous storm. You put me to shame with your workout…I usually am on the couch with a book or a movie or something silly
Lovely cereal + bananas + etc etc mix, love all that stuff of course!
Have a warm day.
I can’t believe you stepped outside barefoot in the snow. You are one brave lady!
Your CBS story made me laugh – talk about a dedicated fan.
I wish my dad bought me squash – he probably doesn’t even know what squash is. Hopefully the snow stops soon for you!
I do that with my coffee too! add some PP spice and its delicious! also great with cinnamon! it is a winter wonderland here too! I love how they talk about snow like its the end of the world! the grocery store was the most packed I have EVER seen it! its like people were buying food like they would never see it again LOL
stay warm my dear!!
Look at all that snow! You have inspired me, I’m going to give Kefir a try.
Omg look at all that snow!!!!! I love it!
And thanks for risking your bare little feet for a prime photo op! Hahaha
The snowman cup is adorable.
Clems are amazing. As are fage, home-made green tea lattes and pumpkin pie spice!!!
2 feet of snow here as well! I love, love that kind of green tea. I like being able to see the actual leaves through the bag. Have you tried the Jasmine Green Tea? It’s one of my faves.
i love that you added the pumpkin spice -that looks great!
Wow– those snow pics are crazy!!! Your makeshift workout sounds like a good way to burn up a little “cabin fever” energy
I never thought you could make pumpkin coffee that way! Brilliant
Cute little snowman mug too!
I love a nice crusty salmon as well! Mmm, I just had some at church for lunch!
You officially have more snow than we do! WOW! I heard you guys got a huge storm. Gotta say that I’m happy to have missed it.
