Snowing Cats and Dogs

It’s snowing, it’s pouring, the old man is snoring!!

I’ve been singing that out loud all morning like a 5 year old. It is POURING snow over here with crazy strong WINDS. It looks like there are snow machines blowing the snow out from left to right.

How did I get a day behind again!? Maybe we’ll get two posts today :)

***

Breakfast (I keep saying the word ‘breakfast’ but this meal is typically consumed around 11 am, if not later). I’ve been on a pubertal teen sleeping cycle and I can’t break it!

IMG_0279.JPG

I made some oatbran with egg beaters.

IMG_0282.JPG

Topped with almonds, coconut flakes, and pumpkin walnut bread. Plus an unpictured massive slice of Pumpkin Walnut Bread :)

IMG_0288.JPG

And a staircase apple sprinkled with cinnamon.

IMG_0285.JPG

All I have to do is microwave the apple for 2 minutes and all the allergens are gone! Wahoo. Seriously, I love apples but have been scared away by my allergies for so long. Get ready to see some apple action over here!

IMG_0292.JPG

Then I got inspired by the vegan carob banana chunks I bought at WFs and I decided to make some raw bites. Two kinds even.

First I put my Magic Bullet to use and ground up 8 dates, ~10 pecans, ~10 almonds, and cinnamon.

IMG_0300.JPG

There was some manual labor too. I kneaded the dough so all the ingredients would be evenly distributed and then rolled ‘em up.

IMG_0303.JPG

Tossed them in shredded coconut.

IMG_0305.JPG

And ate them….ALL.

IMG_0311.JPG

IMG_0312.JPG

These were similar to Larabars, although not as chunky. I’ll share the second version I made in a later post. Those were closer to the vegan carob banana chunks that I bought at Whole Foods.

Dinner was Operation Use Up Food Before They Retire.

IMG_0315.JPG

This is totally lacking creativity but my greens and broccoli slaw are about to retire!! Nobody else in the house is helping me eat them! :)

I had a pita pocket with Pumpkin Hummus, greens, and a yogurt+tahini sauce I made at the last minute.

IMG_0321.JPG

Plus a huge bed of lettuce with broccoli slaw and cranberry goat cheese.

IMG_0319.JPG

Dessert was a bowl of Butter Almond FULL EVERYTHING ice cream. Ice cream can be eaten even when it looks like this outside:

IMG_0327.JPG

Shots taken from our condo windows.

IMG_0329.JPG

Same view this morning!

IMG_0330.JPG

Now, how am I going to return the Red Box DVD due at 9pm!? Yikes. Stay warm bloglings!

I’m jealous of your sleeping cycle. I slept until 7:45 this morning and was excited. I need to train myself to sleep later.

Those balls look better than Larabars.

Have fun in the snow!

here is also snowing hard, I love it. I would like to sleep until 11 am :( But my sleeping cycle works perfectly, I’m always awake at 6 am, for my classes, even when I don’t have them :D

Snow! :D :D

Can I ask, what are you allergic to in apples? Are you allergic to other fruits?
I only just met a girl this year who is also allergic to apples, pears, and lots of others of those kinds of fruits.
(sorry I find allergies REALLY intersting. I’m a nerd. :p)

It’s snowing like crazy here today too! 20 inches!!! Holy moly, that’s a lot of snow and we haven’t even gotten through christmas yet!

I am glad that you can still enjoy apples. It’s so sad when you find out that you are allergic to a good fruit or veggie. A few years ago, I was allergic to cantaloupe, but I think I grew out of it. Now, it doesn’t bother me at all! Hey, I won’t question it, because I love all melons! ;)

Have a good weekend girl and have fun in the snow! :)

I tend to sleep late like a teenager on weekends…a habit I need to break.

Looks like you’ve got some pretty snow – we are waiting for it to arrive here. Shouldn’t be too long!

I love the magic Bullet! except it takes forever to crush frozen fruits and ice. And I LOVE your salad. I watched the news and saw that there are really bad snow storms towards the east coast, yikes! It’s sooo sunny down here.
