Frown Upside Down

Today was supposed to be the warmest day of our winter chill Florida vacation. I decided not to workout in the AM so we could get out and do something given the nice weather. Little did I know foregoing a workout would put me in such a stinky mood!! I needed some endorphins to turn my frown upside down. I think it was mostly due to the fact that I was experiencing some serious yogurt withdrawal. Serious, I tell ya.

My parents even cut open a pineapple this morning–the ultimate yogurt match. Boy did my yogurt cravings skyrocket as a result. I <3 yogurt + pineapple!!

***

I decided I HAD to have yogurt for breakfast (okay, lunch) or I would POP, so we stopped by Publix on our way out. In preparation, I packed some fruit: banana slices, pears, apples, and pineapple to eat with my yogurt.

IMG_1219.JPG

Thank the heavens.

IMG_1227.JPG

I guess my workout was sprinting down the grocery aisles to get me some Greek yogurt. I was pretty hungry by that time!!

We also got some holiday candy on clearance…75% off!!! Publix Clearance Rox!

IMG_1222.JPG

The Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark was 60 cents!!! The other two were ~$1!!!

We later found ourselves back at Publix and picked up MORE candy/treats/coffee on clearance!! (And again, for more Peppermint Bark!!!).

IMG_1231.JPG

Ummm…OH MY GAWSH!! You all know how much I love pecan pie. Hello!!!

IMG_1232.JPG

These chocolates and my Greek yogurt sure put me in a great mood!

I munched on baby carrots and kabocha slices before digging in to the treats.

IMG_1220.JPG

Of course, I had to try each one!

IMG_1251.JPG

I’ve never had Almond Roca before! It’s my Daddy’s favorite.

IMG_1235.JPG

Our adventure today was to Cape Canaveral where cruise ships dock and where the Kennedy Space Center is located. It was closed, however, so we didn’t get a chance to take a tour.

We did however find Cocoa Beach and took a little stroll.

Me sportin’ my vacation bum outfit :)

IMG_1239.JPG

IMG_1238.JPG

We came back shortly because there wasn’t much to see/do there. On our way back, we decided to hit up the another Outlet center to walk around and bargain hunt.

IMG_1252.JPG

I had some biscuits before hitting the shops. These butter biscuits are the shiz.

IMG_1254.JPG

There were SO many awesome shops that aren’t normally found at outlet centers (The North Face Outlet, Victoria’s Secret Outlet, American Apparel, Forever 21, etc.) We walked around for almost 5 hours!!

I ended up with….

IMG_1255.JPG

PJ pants for $1.99 and a pair of cute boxer shorts (from The Gap). Yes, I love wearing men’s boxers as PJ shorts. AND…

SHIN SLEEVES!!!! (I found these at New Balance Outlet).

IMG_1256.JPG

H-O-T-T!!!

IMG_1260.JPG

I can’t wait to try these out on my next run!! Dana, a bloggy reader, has been giving me injury support and she suggested I give these a shot.

***

I snacked throughout the day, so I don’t have real food photos but I do have thoughts on Avatar!!!

IMG_1211.JPG

INCREDIBLE.

The IMAX screen was enormous and made it feel as if I was one of the Navi people jumpin’ on the trees. I seriously wanted to be one of them!! I was a little freaked out at first when the movie started because random objects were flying out at me, especially with the MASSIVE IMAX screen but it was so rockin’ cool!! The sound effects were insane!!

I’m more of a realistic movie person and I still thought it was amazing. You should definitely go see it in 3D (and IMAX if possible) if you haven’t already. GO!!! The DVD version will not do it justice no matter how big your flat screen TV is. Now I finally understand all the hype.

Ahh shoot, okay i’m gonna convince my dad to come see Avatar with me!! I’ve heard enough good thingss–times to sit through a three hour movie and just see what all the hype’s about :)

But all this fruit and chocolate look deliciouss!! I just had part of a “dark chocolate with Moroccan mint” bar and it was FANTASTIC! Omg, satisfied my chocolate craving, however left me wanting more for tomorrow!

That’s my girl!!! Allz I had an obsession with boxers and I always buy men’s to sleep in cuz the ones they make for ladies are (though cuter) always too much more expensive. NOT worth it!!! Deals are awesome, especially when chocolate is concerned. :) *drool* Girardhelli’s is my favorite!!!! Dark chocolate espresso is excellent!!! But pecan sounds delicious too!!!! :)

Haha Port Canaveral and Coco Beach was one of our unplanned stops on our Honeymoon Cruise. See, they replaced Turks and Cacaos with Port Canavral….. I wasn’t very happy! :( It was nice, but our options of excursions were taking a bus to the Walmart or to the 7-11 (I kid you not!)

Glad you got your yogurt fix!!! I would have been shaking at that point myself.

Enjoy the rest of your trip!

An American Apparel outlet!?!?!?! I would spend my life savings in oversized tees if I could! How are the shin sleeves working?? I suffered from horrible shin splints after the last half marathon I ran! I can feel your miserable pain all the way from OH!

I’m still a little hesitant about seeing Avatar but maybe I should just do it while I have the chance to see it in IMAX/3D. How do you roast your kabocha? Temp/length? Put anything on it? And you eat the whole thing too, eh?

So did the shin sleeves help? My husband uses something similar for his ankles since he changed his running style. Looks silly but they work and that sure beats an injury.

Ooh, I’m glad you let your tastebuds experience the heaven that is almond roca. That just may be my favorite chocolatey candy. :) I haven’t worked out in so long that I’ve become used to the lack of endorphins. Luckily, when I do exercise, I become super cheerful. :)

I didn’t know they were showing Avatar in 3D! That sounds awesome. I’ve heard rave reviews, so I’m figuring that I need to see it sometime soon! ;) Enjoy your vacation, alright?!
