I’m glad you all enjoyed the Etiquette Tips from yesterday. It’s interesting how some of you knew most/all of them while some of you (and yours truly) learned a thing or two!
Yesterday I woke up and immediately hit the gym. I ellipticalled for 60 minutes. It felt looooong because it was right after waking up. AM workouts always drag for me. PM workouts fly by. So strange.

Beee Fast! (more like late lunch)
Kefir Green Smoothie with Kashi GoLean Cereal

I added ~1/2 cup of Greek yogurt but it sunk! Along with strawberries and pineapple. So good with the crunchy cereal. Sort of like cereal and milk but NOT.

See the Greek yogurt??

Meet my new polycarbonate bowl!! It’s unbreakable and microwave safe. I like how it’s a square at the bottom and then twists into a circle at the top. I’m a dork.

Also, I started using my NEW aluminum H20 bottle and I am IN LOVE! I don’t know why it took me so long to jump on the aluminum bandwagon. Perhaps because they were always $20+ when I saw them in stores and I was looking for a ’sport top’ so I could guzzle one-handed. Not to mention I was looking for the *perfect* design.
This guy is great though and for $6.50, I was willing to forego the ’sport top.’ Do you know if I can put non-water liquids in here? Such as juice, tea, etc.? (No!! NOT alchy hehe). Also, can they be warm/hot?

I had to show some cement thanks to the tall water bottle

Recovering Cereal Addict
I must give myself a pat on the back. I used to be terrified of cereal because whenever I bought a box, I would eat the entire thing in a day or two. Literally. Cereal did not last long in my presence. I lived in fear of cereal and the more scared I was, the faster I would finish the box!
However, I’ve noticed that I can buy boxes of cereal now, eat 1 serving, and be done. It’s quite amazing. I no longer fear cereal and I find that I can live under the same roof as a box of cereal without killing it.
So far, I’ve been working with more ‘plain’ cereals such as Kashi Puffs and Kashi GoLean. I’m easing myself to tastier/more addicting cereals. Granola sits at the top of the ladder!! I’m still 100% addicted to granola
.
***
Snackie: Sesame Honey Almonds + Kashi GoLean with half-caf coffee.

Dinner: Monstrous Salad w/ Gyoza Grilled Tofu.

(avocado + tofu=magic)
I pan-fried/grilled tofu slices in TJ’s Gyoza Dipping Sauce.

——->
.
I also panini-pressed some sweet potato discs. They cook up in minutes!!!
——->
They taste just like fries this way.

All together now.

Dessert: Triple Dairy Threat
1) TJ’s Tart Frozen Yogurt
2) Greek Yogurt
3) Kefir
Topped with strawberries, mango and just a lil’ Kashi GoLean

Then I had me a sorority ceremony that lasted almost 2 hours. By the time I got home I was hungry again so I had some dark chocolate, almond butter, almonds, and dried apricots.
AND….
Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride Tea + Cinnamon=SNICKERDOODLE TEA!!!

I’m gonna go eat and then walk+read before class!! I’ve got a LONG day ahead.

That salad look fabulous! I recently got an aluminum water bottle myself. I love it b/c it keeps my water sooo much colder.
I’m so addicted to cereal and granola myself. It is tought to stop, because they never quite fill me up!
Your new water bottle is purdy (green=my fave color)! Glad you’re conquering the cereal. It’s a delicious and necessary addtion to yog messes, cottage cheese bowls, and nut milk! And I’m so jealous you still have some sugar cookie sleigh ride tea – mine’s been gone for weeks!
I am a serious cereal addict, but now I can have one serving and be done. I just have to avoid buying certain kinds, or the box won’t last more than a day….
I stopped buying cereal because I do that- “oh there is some milk left in my bowl.. I should get more cereal. Oops, now I need more cereal for all that milk…”. I currently only have healthy/not-as-tasty cereals and I buy small quantities of granola from the bulk section. I’ve seen tons of blog people saying the same thing about cereal- wonder what it is about cereal that makes us want to/able to eat 23874 bowls in a sitting?!
PANINI PRESSING SWEET POTATOES?!?!?
Pure GENIUS!
I use to be that way with cereal too. I love it now
Have a great day!
Amen sista! I am an addict when it comes to cereal too! I think I could live off of cereal if I had to. THe one I can not be trusted with..PB Puffins! Holy crap, I go through boxes of this stuff by the day. And Cinnamon Toast Crunch. That stuff is crazy good!
I try to stick with the healthy cereals when I am eating them for breakfast and always treat myself to the good stuff as a bedtime snack.
I love the idea of sweet potatoes in the panini press seeing as I’m so impatient usually! I love TJ’s sauces-recently had some of the General Tso sauce with shrimp, veggies, and brown rice. So yummy! Yeah, cereals are ridic. So good, but not much of a fill factor. I’ve gone through phases-esp. with Peanut Butter Panda Puffs.
omg. you need to come with me to support me in CEREAL KILLERS ANONYMOUS. i still fear that having cereal in my pantry – cereal GONE IN A DAY! hahahha. cannot be trusted with go lean crunch, puffins, quaker oat crack!
or cinnamon fiber one. delectable.
go lean tho is AWESOME! =D and love your pictures AS USUAL. okay, you know, just be honest- YOU WERE GOING TO PUT alcoholly in the bottle! crack a bottle, let your body waddle
I so want one of those bottles, but like you am waiting til i find the perfect one! Food looks tasty x x
SNICKERDOODLE TEA! Love it!
That’s funny– I have the opposite experience. Morningg workouts feel great to me, but PM ones drrrrrrag on and on
I love the color of your smoothie — so green!
Try Nature Paths granolas…and Puffins
I totally feel you on the cereal front – sometimes I can CHAMP those boxes. Good to know that you can enjoy delicious creations in peace.
The green under all of the toppings is sooo bright! It looks great!
Cereal…so good:) Love the colors in your eats!
xxx Julia (Taste of Living)
I really need to get one of those bottles – really love the colour of yours!
$6.50 is a great deal.

I am so a recovering cereal addict too! Now, I am able to have a bowl for a snack without going overboard because I made sure to not put it off limits. When in training for my figure competition and the strict diet that went along with it, I found myself diving headfirst into huge bowls of cereal for comfort and feeling guilty and addicted! I’m so glad to be over that. What do they put in that stuff? Crack!?! Sure seems like it sometimes, huh? LOL
That green smoothie looks delish! I used to have them all the time for breakfast but I haven’t had one in forever. I’d never thought to put cereal or yogurt on top for more substance though…good idea!
i FINALLY bought the TJs tart fro-yo! haven’t tried it yet, but it will be a fabulous after dinner treat for tomorrow (to celebrate surviving another night on call . . .). yayyyyyY!!
Panini pressing the sweet poatao? Genius!! Ideas like that are why I love this little blog world of ours!!
I used to be obsessed with cereal too! I think it’s a girl thing. =P Now I am just obsessed with raw granola, so I am looking for a less fatty version (less nuts, more buckwheat/oats!)
“All together now”
That’s my favorite tea, by the way. I’m highly addicted!
Does the tofu stick to the pan? Sticks to mine not matter how much oil I use
I’m the opposite way…my early workouts go far faster than my late ones! I LOVE Kashi GoLean, though I know what you mean about certain foods not lasting. I’m like that with dark chocolate bars- I always buy small ones, because I have way too much trouble not eating them in one sitting! That tofu looks so yummy! How do you like the Gyoza sauce? I need to try something new with mine!
after reading the title i thought there was going to be a big photo of my mug to start the post. i am SO addicted. boxes and boxes. i am trying to be better…
snickerdoodle tea?! i’m telling you girlie, you are brilliant!
I know it’s not a SIGG, but here’s their FAQ:
http://www.sigg.com/about-sigg/knowledge-base/faq/
I have 2 aluminum bottles and I love them! My SIGG is so beat up and busted – I’ll have to post a pic when I get back East!
I don’t believe the regular aluminum bottles are meant for hot liquids, but I’ve seen that Kleen Kanteen has come out with a thermos style. Yours is super cute!

Pan-pressed potatoes. That’s so cool! I love that bowl, too.
I know what you mean about being addicted to granola. That stuff is like crack
Your tea concoction is so creative! I’ll have to try that
I’m tellin ya, no smoothie is complete for me without a little crunch action on top!
Your water bottle is so cute…I know, I already told you that;)
I love the colour of your smoothie in a bowl! Lovely!!
i’m a cereal addict too! it’s hard to practice self control…baby steps are best
I’ve stopped buying cereal because I consume it in one day! I hope one day I can get over it and just have a serving like you do!
OMG still want to try that Sugar Sleigh Ride tea!!
I love cereal too, sometimes its hard for me to keep it in the house….love it too much.
I think we share the exact same tastes! I, no joke, have Sweet Potato Cheetahs cooking in the oven with Tofu laid out to grill on the Foreman to add to my Spinach Salad for dinner, haha.. not to mention I am completely addicted to Granola! I love making my own now though; so I’ll just make just enough for a few servings, so I can’t go too crazy!
Wow, your smoothie is electric green! A perfect example of a breakfast backed with vitamins
. I know what you mean about the cereal — I used to go through boxes and boxes when I was younger. I would eat a bowl of cereal, have leftover milk so I would pour myself more cereal, then I would have leftover cereal so I would pour more milk … it was quite a cycle. Good for you for slowly introducing cereals again!
Congrats on overcoming cereal! ; ) Ha, I DO understand, it’s SO easy to just keep eating!
That smoothie is such a gorgeous shade of green, I love it!
cereal is my favorite food!! I can have up to (no joke) 11 boxes.. but whenever i see a new one! I just buy it!! I savour though.. thats why i collect so many
Why is your kefir yogurt green?
it looks SO awesome anyways.
Sweet potato discs! I can’t wait to try them! I’m going grocery shopping tomorrow, and sweet potatoes are the first thing on my list. Also, I hear ya on the cereal thing. Usually I can’t wait to go to bed just so I can wake up and have a bowl of cereal. Addicted…nah!
wow that salad looks so tasty and GREEN!! love it!!!
afternoon workouts go by MUCH faster to me too! weird!
Love it! Love it!! Love the kefir as milk idea : ) And love the green color.
oh your cereal addiction cracks me up – but yes, I understand and have a hard time parting with a good bag of granola!
I have GOT to try grilling sweet potatoes on the George Foreman, that looks awesome
haha and it’s funny, morning workouts fly by for me, evening ones seem to drag!
I was absolutely the same way with cereal. We are totally twins. I can remember sitting on my couch during a particularly dark time post college, shoveling Kashi GoLean Crunch into my mouth by the handful, in an effort to forget what was going on. Even the good cereal is terrible for you if you eat the box!! I haven’t bought cereal in foreverrrrr just because I don’t like the power that it once had over me – but I’m willing to give it another shot now that I’m “recovered”
That tofu salad looks so good. I love tofu!!
I used to be addicted to Raisin Nut Bran. The obsession ran deep!
Allie, I have the same problem with cereal, eating the whole box in 1-2 servings!! Can you tell me if you have any tips that helped you through the recovery??
