Blogger Bash

We’ve now graduated from ‘blogger meet-up’ –> ‘blogger-bash.’

Last night Sarah, Meg, Lacey and I (along with their significant others!!) met up at Jessica’s house for pizza, snax, desserts, and some good ol’ chattin’.

I was a wee bit late because I made the decision to bake before completing my assignment (due at midnight). Priorities, people! Anyways, Jessica and Andy’s warm, inviting, and gorgeous home made me miss MY own home….which is apparently now buried in mounds of SNOW!!

We had a blast chattin’ it up. I almost forgot that I had only seen most of them once or twice…EVER. It always amazes me how unawkward conversations with fellow bloggers and blog readers are. We always seem to jump right in as if we’re old time friends (awwwww).

This is going to sound weird but it’s kinda strange to have real people to socialize with….that sounds SO weird. My life at school is just lonely (oh so lonelyyy) and I forget what it’s like to have people to talk to! Mooooving on…

Snax, which I nibbled on throughout the night. (Isn’t Jessica’s kitchen gorgeous?!)

Double sided crackers (1/2 Pretzel 1/2 Ritz crackers) w/ beer cheese.

Pita chips and hummus. I kept swiping these up like poker chips.

Jessica graciously left me some vegetarian pizza. I had the slice on the left! Go for the green :)

For dessert we broke into the Great Harvest bars that Kath and Matt brought when they visited Durham. The bars had been living in Sarah’s freezer ever since! They tasted like they were baked just hours before though. I had ~4 cubes (2 of each flavah).

Brownie cupcakes with cream cheese icing!

And I brought Almond Butter Blondies (see below).

Back to the blondies…

This gluten free recipe has 6 ingredients total (salt not pictured)! That’s it!!

IMG_2551.JPG

I also made a ‘carrot cake’ version of these back when I first started blogging!

IMG_2556.JPG IMG_2559.JPG

They taste so floury and cakey, you would never believe they are flourless. I would go as far as saying they have a texture almost identical to brownies. The best part is it’s pretty much a chunk of REAL food.

I may or may not have eaten ~2 of these on the drive home!

Thanks, Jessica and Andy for hosting our blogger bash! I’m already looking forward to our next get together. Maybe we’ll go from blogger bash to blogger slumber party!?!?

That blogger bash looks so much fun! Hanging out with fellow foodie friends is definitely something to look forward to. I so want to meet some fellow bloggers someday!

    Have a good Saturday Allie!

  2. I’m going to my first meetup next weekend and I’m so excited! I feel like I know so much about some bloggers that I’ve never met, that it might be awkward in conversation (how many times do you say “oh yeah! I saw that on your blog!” but I’m relieved to hear you say it’s not!

Aww that sounds like so much fun! No offense to the original recipe creator, but your bars look soo much better!!! I MUST make those asap! So I really really want to go with my parents to go visit family in the Carolinas and Atlanta, and my aunt lives in Charlotte and I’d want to have a meet up with you! The thing is, I have work :( and so does my hubby. So….sad face. I can still hope though!

Oh wow, those almond butter blondies sound SO good. That’s a VERY generous amount of almond butter used. ;) It’s so nice that you guys can just jump in and click immediately like that. You know you have good friends when that happens. :]

By the way, what is beer cheese?

Ohhh mannnn. Those ab blondies look gorgeous! Do you think it would be possible to substitute something for the eggs to make it vegan?

Blogger slumber party sounds awesome! Count me in ;)

And I’m so glad you got to spend a fun evening with an awesome group. I know how lonely school can be, and it takes a lot of effort to not be lonely sometimes. Anywho, I’m always here if you need somebody to just chat with! :)

WOW! Those blondies are drool worthy! I’ll have to get to Costco to grab a big jar of almond butter so I can make them.

Glad to hear the blogger bash was a success!!!
