2 Birds With 1 Stone

I spoiled you all with TWO posts yesterday so I figured I would allow you to enjoy Sunday all over again with me as I sit in my TWO Monday classes…one of which is TWO and half hours long!

But first, TWO TIDBITS!

So I have this annoying patch of dry skin under my right eye that never goes away no matter how much lotion I slather on it. My coworker this summer (an esthetician) told me it was eczema. I wasn’t too surprised because my mother has eczema too…but on my face!?

Anyways, It’s been super super super dry this winter and FLAKY! The other day, Lauren commented that she uses coconut oil as a moisturizer. I would have never thought to put oil on my face since I associate oil with zits! But I thought I’d give it a try.

I put a dab on my dry skin patch (using a spoon, don’t worry) and the next morning it was GONE!!!! I couldn’t believe it when I woke up with a smooth patch o’ skin under my eye! The darn dry patch has been there for SO long and POOF! it was gone….just like that!

I need TWO jars of this magical oil–so I can use one as a moisturizer and one for baking :)

Coconut oil kills helps 2 birds with 1 stone!

***

This is my space heater. The other day, I tweeted that I seared my leg on this guy. I accidentally touched it for a split second (OW!!) and then YELLED all sorts of profane words….

IMG_2708.JPG

Yesterday I decided to take a look at my burn and found the honey comb imprint burned on there!! So weird!! I wonder how long my tattoo burn will stay there.

IMG_2707.JPG

Sorry, that was so random.

***

Let’s get to the food shall we?

Sunday mornin’ brunch:

IMG_2688.JPG

Whole Wheat Bagel Thin w/ TWO egg whites and a slice of Kraft cheese.

IMG_2690.JPG

IMG_2691.JPG

I found these bagels at a convenience store on campus. They’re not as small as mini-bagels but they’re not as big as normal bagels. How PERF!

IMG_2699.JPG

Apple CHUNX!

IMG_2692.JPG

Cafetiere Coff

IMG_2696.JPG

Then I went out in the beautiful sunshine and walk-read for ~TWO miles. This is killing 2 birds with 1 stone at it’s very very best.

…..and yes, I use grocery receipts as my book marks. Shush :)

IMG_2711.JPG

Snackables:

Graham cracker w/ a black bean brownie and chocolate chips. It tastes great this way! The crunch of the graham cracker and the sweet of the chocolate accentuate the brownie taste!

IMG_2702.JPG

My roomie went to Trader Joe’s so I had her get me TWO things: Kefir (it’s been far too long) and Pineapple chips (it’s been WAY too long)!!!

I ate this whole bag throughout the day. Okay, there’s only 1 1/4 cups inside which is 2.5 servings….not so bad, right? At least I stretched it out and ate them in TWO sittings :) .

…I’m so addicted to these it’s not even funny.

IMG_2714.JPG

I went to the gym for 60 min on the elliptical and then I busted out a 1 mile sprint! I need to clear my head!!

Dinner:

IMG_2724.JPG

Panini-pressed sweet potato discs:

IMG_2716.JPG

A 3-day old dining hall salad on it’s LAST leg.

IMG_2717.JPG

Eggplant Black Bean veggie cheeseburger w/ brie and avocado on an Ezekiel English Muffin

IMG_2723.JPG

Mickey D’s has nothin’ on ME!

IMG_2727.JPG

Dessert:

TJ’s Tart Froyo with kefir, a crumbled oatmeal cookie, strawberries, chocolate chips.

IMG_2732.JPG

And then I ate another handful of chocolate chips. I had a super duper chocolate craving!!

Alright that’s enough birds and TWOs for today. Hope you are enjoying your Mondays!

Which Superbowl commercial was your favorite? I gotta find them online to watch!

Haha I think your burn is really pretty! I think you might be starting a new trend, honeycomb burns :P
LOVE that burger combo – the brie and avocado and sweet potato etc – all sounds sooo good :)
Have a good day :D

i really want to try those bagel thins! and im so happy someone else in blogworld embraces the brilliance of egg whites + kraft. i’ve tried subbing fancy cheeses on my egg sandwiches, and, really, kraft is numero uno, in all its processed, orangey glory

My space heater is so old and ghetto it barely does anything, but it doesn’t burn me, so I guess I cant complain!

I love the “burger dinner”! Right up my allie (get it?? god im SUCH a dork). Looks fabulous. and I definitely had the same dessert last night!! minus the strawberries but it was fantaaaaaaastic. I might now be a kefir addict…

Such a great idea with the coconut oil! I have super dry skin in the winter, too, so I have to try that tip! Ouch about the burn! If it’s going to leave a mark, at least it’s kinda cool looking…I have insanely heat tolerant skin, so I can touch a space heater for a few seconds before it starts to hurt. Super weird. And random. Love the idea of the walk-reading…knowing me, I’d trip and die though! Those burgers look better and better each time…thanks for the recipe!

I have heard of people using coconut oil as a body moisturizer when they get out of the shower. Suppose to be awesome stuff!

I am so jealius that you can walk/read at the same time. That makes me dizzy! ;)

i love hearing from you twice in one day! It makes my day twice as more pleasant! :)

So sorry about your burn! Ouch! Maybe the coconut oil will cure that too? I would give it a try.

Enjoy the rest of your Monday hun!

What are you reading? I definitely liked the Audi “Green Police” commercial the best, even though it’s advertising a product that is inherently NOT green (aka a car haha)

I liked the Dorito one when the mom’s new bf comes over and then takes the little boys Dorito and starts talking about how he’s gonna play his video games to the little kid. So funny. They were a little repetitive this year – all Doritos or Budweiser.

Ouch for your burn but it sure does look cool!

So coconut oil IS magical! I love all the burger/sandwich-type foods you eat. Those panini-pressed sweet potato slices look really cool, as does your honeycomb burn. If I ever get burned, that’s what I want it to look like. :]

However, each of your meals looks amazing! especially that dinner, yum yum…I’m so hungry waiting for my sweet p fries right now! lol

Haha! I love the randomness! :) Oh, and I use coconut oil as a moisturizer too! It’s so great! I also have two separate jars. ;) How in the world do you walk and read at the same time, girl?! I would run into something or someone, for that matter! =P

Your post was TOO cute and funny (that was cheesy, sorry!). My favorite commercials were the Google ones and the Dove for Men. Although I actually didn’t watch the game, I saw all the commercials online later! Hulu has an “Ad Spot” where you can watch – and rate – them all.

That black bean brownie looks so.dang.good!! yum!
The burn confused me a bit haha, i just assume that burns always end up being… blobs (if that makes any sense)
I’m glad the oil helped out though!

Your burger looks incredibly scrumptious. Combining avocado, black bean burger and brie seems like a fantastic idea to me!

Oh! That is really interesting- I have a random small dry patch on my eyelid that someone said was excema which I thought sounded weird since it’s just one patch. I still need to get coconut oil for my Babycakes recipes!

tell me how you manage to walk and read without tripping over!

Allie! I’m so glad the coconut oil was helpful! I seriously love that stuff! I like to keep it in a tiny plastic Glad container which makes it easier for traveling and just keeping in the bathroom and not worrying about breaking glass or anything. Just an fyi! ;) Oh and my skin has never been better since I started washing it with a tea tree oil face wash and using coconut oil as a moisturizer-and I’ve tried a lot of stuff! :)
