Anyone watch men’s figure skating last night!? I did! It made getting my work done nearly impossible though. A simple 1 hour assignment took about 6 hours. It was like was pulling teeth. I just can’t peel myself away from the Olympic action!!
Hey, it only comes once every 4 years, right? Gotta soak it in.

Behold: $20 at Godiva.

~$3 at home.

To make these chocolate covered strawberries, all I did was melt about 1/4 of a bar of dark chocolate in the microwave and then dipped those suckers in there. Too easy!

Behold: Dairy and faux dairy restock at Whole Foods:

This almond cheese was on sale so I had to give it a try. I’ve been eyeing this guy for months now. It’s funny how the sale was only a 50 cent discount. I waited months just to save 50 cents.
Anyways, I rarely get non-dairy cheese because I figure if I’m not allergic to real cheese, what’s the point?

Sometimes it’s fun to just try something new. This was pretty fabulous. Check out the protein content!!

Breakfast:

Kefir, cinnamon apples and Pumpkin Coconut Pecan Granola

Chocolate covered strawberries. Oh yes, for breakfast!

And after lots of undocumented snax and a psych class came…
Dinner:

Behold: my newest favorite combo, Tofu + Ketchup!

Sandwich rounds with grilled tofu and almond cheese:

To make a protein packed grilled cheese sammie:

I can drink these all the live long day. My favorite is still Fuji Apple Pear.

Behold: A smorgasbord of sweets
Chickpea Blondie, 82% Dark Chocolate and a Thin Mint

I also had kefir + tart froyo with strawberries and graham crackers:

A few spoonfuls of almond butter and a handful of cereal may have snuck in too.

I’ve got my Culinary Cultures class today (wahoo!) and then Susan comes to town!!! Can’t wait to see her again.
I also really need to catch up on some quality sleep this weekend. I’ve been skimping on sleep this week and it has taken a toll on my bod.

Yummy looking breakfast, that almond cheese sounds interesting, how was it? x x
Once again, we think alike!
I JUST picked up that almond cheese a week or so ago for the first time – I’m not lactose intolerant or allergic either, but I just had to give it a try! I love it, too – what did you think of it?
AND – also LOVE those Sobe lifewaters! Usually I’m not a flavored water fan but lately I’ve been getting bored of normal water. Those things are so addicting!
Your breakfast looks SOSO good, and I love your mug! I’ve got to try making some of that granola
I love making Chocolate Covered Strawberries. Now that is one dessert that I can actually handle.
I’m eating strawberries for breakfast at this very moment, but now I am wishing they were covered in chocolate. Would make this breakfast much more enjoyable!
Hope you have a wonderful Friday!
There were some Whole Deal coupons on Whole Food’s website for buy one get one free Lifeway products (Kefir included)! I think they are still there. Just lettin’ ya know since I know how much you LOVE kefir.
Chocolate-covered fruit is my absolute favorite!!! Your strawberries look so yummy!
Chocolate covered strawberries at breakfast – my kind of person haha!
And :O OOH at the almond cheese, I’ve never heard of such a thing – what did it taste like? Like cheese, or like almonds? Wow, I really want to take a trip to the US purely to sample all the wacky foods you guys have
Oooh Chocolate Covered Strawberries!! What a delicious treat!
I’m amazed at how you eat tofu plain (or w/ ketchup I guess…). People expect me to eat it a lot (vegetarian) but I’m not a fan. I eat it sometimes but for some reason I just can’t get past the texture, especially when it’s crispy on the outside, gross!
I need to make some chocolate covered strawberries like that!!! So easy! I’ve seen that almond cheese around, but have hesitated buying it– glad to hear that it’s good!
Something about the kefir/strawberries/graham crackers looks divine!
Yummy strawberries Allie, I’m jealous!
Amen to homemade chocolate covered strawberries! They are so easy, it’s the only way to go
So you liked the almond cheese? I’ve seen it before, but have never really been interested to try it.
Ok, so reading this at 7:30 am and am NEEDING those strawberries!
Love chocolate covered strawberries!! Yum!! Hope you have a fun time with Susan this weekend!!
chocolate for breakfast is always necessary! those look awesome and perfect! you should open a shop
I dont know why but I am n ot a huge fan of ketchup BUT I bought this new ’speciality’ ketchup frmo marshalls that has spices in it and I cant wait to try it! I love trying and finding new prodcuts, that cheese looks great and melts really well!
Allie, your posts always make me hungry!!!
Almond cheese sounds like something I’d love to try. I’m actually tossing around the idea of a trip to Buffalo mid March so I’ll have to add that to my shopping list.
Oooh so what did the almond cheese taste like?!
Can’t wait to hear about your class later : )
I am seriously amazed by your dark chocolate dipping skills! Those strawberries are gorgeous! The cheese sounds super interesting. I’d love to try it- I’ll have to keep an eye out next time I’m at WF! And your granola looks better and better every time you make it
Enjoy your class and have a great Friday!
Your plates, bowls, and placemats are so beautiful! They only highlight your gorgeous, colorful food. Thanks for the review of the almond mozzarella!! Have a great day!
I loved the men’s skating!! Yay Evan won!!
I’ve been skimping on the sleep too. Hopefully will get caught up tonight!
Love the chocolate covered strawberries, what a good idea!
I am ADDICTED to those SoBe Life waters! Seriously…it’s draining my bank account. Except the Fuji Apple is my least favorite because it reminds me of sour apple vodka haha
I still haven’t made my own chocolate covered strawberries. I had a sample at a grocery store like on Saturday. SOOO need to make these.
Almond cheese?

Holy YUM!
All your eats looked divine, by the way.
You take beautiful photos!
Have a great Friday!
Brazilian XOXO´s,
Gabriela
Gah everything in this post is delicious!
Um, chocolate covered strawberries? Yes please.
Plus I’m digging the smorgasbord of sweets, plus the fact that you said smorgasbord
Hope you catch up on those zzz’s lady!
mmm… i love, love, love chocolate covered strawberries! it’s amazing how something so simple can be so darn delicious!
that almond “cheese” is really good too! i haven’t tried the mozzarella, but i thought the cheddar was really yummy!
ahhhhh love chocolate covered strawberries! So much cheaper to make at home too you are right, I used to get one strawberry at godiva and yes like 5 bux for one!!! Crazy!!
Loving the almond cheese, will have to look for that!! Almond breeze is a must staple in my house, if I am low on it, I always have more stored away!! I buy 2 or 3 at a time, I get unsweetened though, loving the eats as usual!!
Um yeah for Evan winning the gold in figure skating!! I was so happy!!!!!!!
Ice dancing is on tonight, Im all over that!! I will be watching that tonight and my fiance will be too cause he loves me : ) lol!
Have a great weekend love!!!!!
Wait, so how was the almond cheese? Inquiring minds have to know!
And because of you, I am now going to pick up some Kefir at the health food store.
Your choco-strawberries look delish!
I spy w/ my little eye — a thin mint!! hehe Woo GS shout out!!
Your strawberries look beautiful! I love choc covered strawberries but always make them myself b/c I cannot believe how much of a mark-up they get! Our store had a “special” for Vday – 4 choc covered strawberries for $5– uhh more than $1 for a strawberry?? No thanks!
Thanks for sharing the cheese!! I never knew anything like that existed. We’re not allergic either, but what caught my eye is the no cholesterol. J has orders from the Dr. to watch his. I’ve managed to cut most everything way back except what is found in dairy – this might help!! Thanks!!
(You could even go post it as a First Friday try today on my blog! *hint hint*) hehe
Ah man, I super bummed that I missed the figure skating last night…although ice dancing is on tonight, so maybe that will console me a bit…
I see that almond cheese all the time at WF but never looked at the nutrition info–impressive protein, indeed. What did you think of it?
Hi Allie poo! I totally thought those grilled tofu pieces in your Sammy were sun chips! Hahah I was like – wow…now that is ONE forward thinking girl living on the cutting edge of food combos. Hehehe
I went hunting for the SILK almond milk in my grocery store after I saw it on your blog (I think it has much prettier packaging than the Blue Diamond brand) and managed to convince my bf to get one. Hehehe I’ve converted him!! Muhahaha I hope you have a fabulous weekend Allie. With LOTS of quality sleep!
We LOVE the Olympics over here!!! I just wrote about Joe’s choc. covered strawberries-best Valentine’s dessert, hands down. And I love that you ate some for breakfast! Hope you have a great weekend, Allie! P.S. The almond butter blondies-AMAZING!
Can’t wait to hear about today’s exciting Culinary Cultures class. What do you and Susan have planned? Catch up on your zzz’s, girlie =)
Was the almond cheese good for real? Cheese is pretty much the only food that keeps me from being vegan, and because I’m a veg for animal rights reasons, I really should be vegan. Just wondering.
i def need to catch up on sleep too!
GIRL i got kefir the other day and thought about you- I AM IN LOVE!! i just posted bout it! i could only find the blueberry kind! whats the plain kind taste like?
i didn’t know there was almond cheese! well i guess it make sense, if they can make almond milk, they can certainly make almond cheese!
yesss omg godiva’s chocolate strawberries are incredibly over priced but those look awesome.
I’ve always thought chocolate covered strawberries are the funniest thing because yes, they are pretty and delicious, but how can godiva or baseball stadiums, etc get away for selling them for so much $?! The cook at my house made me the cutest ones for my birthday the other day though; complete with little tuxs and white and dark chocolate. Too bad I gave up sweets for lent!
OMGosh I love almond cheese! I just bought some today, my fav is the garlic and herb one!

Hey Allie, I’m an avid reader of your blog and first of all I’d like to say that you have a lovely blog! I read it every week and get some tips for healty living
it is a bit hard sometimes to follow your recipes because we don’t have most of the stuff presented in your blog here in Europe (Finland) but I’ve tried to find something similar.
Those strawberries looked awesome! I’m definitely going to make them this week when I have a dinner date planned with a good friend of mine.
Have a nice day!
