Clutter Queen Hates to Clean

I dreamt of a day filled with nothing for months on end as I crammed for exams, typed my little hands off and dragged my tush to class. Now that my days are filled with nothing, I am itching for something to do! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not ready for actual work. Oh no…no no no. I’m just waiting for some things to fall in place i.e. the AllieBar project and securing the not-in-stock-anywhere-in-the-world camera. In the mean time, I’m just dawdling around, munching, baking more goodies to munch, and looking up recipes to bake and then to munch.

Today, I actually have something to do. Much to my dismay, it’s my most hated task: Cleaning. We have to clean the house for a prospective buyer. Oof…double oof. I hate cleaning. I hate cleaning more than anything in the world. As you know, I am a total pack rat. I’m also a clutter queen. I’ll spare you the details but let’s just say my room is the complete opposite of feng shui. In fact, if feng shui were alive, it would probably suffocate and kill feng shui in a mere 12 seconds.

Back to yesterday because somehow I got super behind. You know, from doing nothing and all….

I had been craving veggie juice for weeks….WEEKS! So I pulled out our Jack LaLanne juicer to make a delectable potion. My desire for juice seems to mask any memory of how much of a pain it is the clean this machine. Once again, I vowed never to use this machine ever again….until I forget about the cleaning part.

I used 2 giant carrots, ~3 cups of spinach, and 1/2 a grapefruit. I know, all that for 1/2 a glass?! Yeppers.

Served with a slice of millet bread with pumpkin butter swirled Greek yogurt.

While I engaged in further intellectual stimulation, I had not one but TWO AllieBars. When will I get sick of these??

IMG_7329.JPG

I munched on 4 squares of white chocolate with almonds pre-workout. There are whole almonds in this bar…not chopped up bits that you can barely taste.

IMG_7321.JPG

I managed to hit up the gym for 50 min. on the elliptical while watching Oprah.

Dinner #1:

Whole grain wrap with scrambled eggs (1 whole + 1 white), cheese, and grape tomatoes.

IMG_7322.JPG

All wrapped up.

IMG_7326.JPG

A couple hours later, I had dinner #2 with the rents. My dad made spinach with shrimpies.

IMG_7331.JPG

And scrambled eggs with chopped green beans.

IMG_7333.JPG

I had about 1/2 the spinach (!!!) with ~10 shrimpies and maybe 1/5 of the green bean dish.

IMG_7336.JPG

For dessert, I had a mini AOL rice krispie treat that my mom brought back.

IMG_7341.JPG

More white chocolate with almonds and 3 Super Charge Me Cookies!! I made these with dried cranberries and sunflower seeds. Now I know what the fuss is about. All I can say is WOW. I sure cleaned these up!

Off to clean now….maybe :)

Oh cleaning – you poor girl! I hate that job too :(
I’m in the cramming phase at the moment – your eat-bake-eat-bake life sounds SO appealing to me right now!
And gosh – all that wilted spinach – how much fresh was needed for that lot!? It wilts so much!! I love spinach :)

Hey, where do you live, looks like a beautiful cityscape behind that glass of juice!

Also, I miss the ‘nothing’ to do feeling of being out of college before a job. Enjoy it!! Now that I work full time, I just crave that feeling of nothingness every once in a while..that’s when you know it’s time to take a vacation day! haha

How was the string bean egg scramble? sounds interesting :D

I know what you mean about wanting free time until it comes — I cannot handle a schedule that’s so open! I start to get stir crazy. Your shrimpies look delish — how are they made? And I totally want to try an Alliebar- they look kinda like Kashi TLCs…similar?

I had the exact same “What now?” feeling once I got done with my last round of college finals last year! It’s so weird to go from having a 110% jam-packed schedule to wondering what the heck you should be doing with all your spare time. There’s such a fine line between boredom and schedule overload!

Good luck with your cleaning. It reminds me that I seriously need to clean my apartment. You can only go so long without before the environs just become….ummmm….gross. :)

That white chocolate and the SCM cookies look good.
Do you like hummus? Hummus and avocado go great with egg wraps and stuff like that.

HAHAHA I’m google reading right now to procrastinate unpacking. I have SO MUCH STUFF sitting around my house right now, but even though I’m bored, I just don’t feel like using that kind of effort right now…

Super Charge Me Cookies are the bomb. After seeing yours, I’m wishing I didn’t just lend my copy of ED&BV to a friend!

Aren’t the super charge me cookies great?!

And nothing ticks me off faster than cleaning. Especially since I have 2 hellions that make a mess right on my tail!

I’ve been procrastinating on cleaning too. Maybe I’ll make the Super Charge Me cookies so that I can put off cleaning for even longer. :D They look delicious!

I hear ya on wanting something to do but nothing too serious. I am trying to figure out what to do this summer to keep myself busy, but the sounds of getting an actual job are nightmarish haha.

OMG I’m so impressed!! Your Dad can cook and his food looks good! My Dad only makes spaghetti and that’s only because that’s what he survived on during his Uni days. Lol. Oh wait, and he makes instant noodles too if that counts as cooking. Recently he’s been trying to cook it for everyone who would eat it.

Good luck with cleaning! I hate cleaning too but when I do get round to it, I make sure the place looks spic and span. And then I wait for as long as I possible can before I do it again. =x

Much love,
Nat xoxo

I hate cleaning too. Every few weeks I need 3-4 good hours alone to get it done. I don’t like anyone around at all.

Yummy yummy food! I need to make shrimp soon!
