How I’m Still Single

Sniff sniff.

Something smells like almond butter.

But wait, that can’t be possible….I’m at the gym. Barney and Justin are upstairs in my closet!

Something definitely smells like almond butter though.

Hmmm I wonder why.

I think I’m sweating out nut butter toxins/amazins.

Yep, my nut butter hangover has lasted 4 full days.

That was fast.

Really really fast.

I think it’s time I enter a multi-treatment rehab facility.

Just so you know, I’m not eating to go into hibernation or anything. There’s definitely something going on with my cravings this week and I’m trying to roll with it. I usually go through cycles where I crave high fat/high sugar foods for a week or so and then have zero cravings for them the rest of the month. Sound familiar?

It just so happens that my week of cravings coincided with my discovery of Barney and Justin at WFs. I know if I try to control or resist my cravings, they will just escalate. Ya gotta give your body what it wants. Apparently, mine wants Barney and Justin.

***

I’m working out too…or should I say sweating out nut butter.

  • 60 min. elliptical
  • 15 min. upper body strength training

***

The Chobe stash is disappearing before my eyes…

IMG_7049.JPG IMG_7074.JPG

The 2% flavors have been my favorite. It’s amazing what a couple grams of fat can do in terms of creaminess. If you haven’t tried 2% Greek yogurt you must!

***

Thank goodness for some fresh fruit.

I found this in my crap-from-college bag…

IMG_7078.JPG

Wow, have my eats been lame or what? The food options have seriously been limited in this joint. I held off on grocery shopping thinking we would be moving this week. However, our move got pushed back another week (no complaints here), which means…

It’s time to hit up TJ’s!

(woop woop)

I’m glad you enjoyed my dorky posts from yesterday. Did you notice the shrimp dish was plated so that the broccoli sat on the bottom and the other veggies + shrimp floated on top?

Yep, that was all Peter.

By the way, Peter was flattered by all your sweet comments on his cooking :) .

I kept thinking about the MGD 64 commercial as I was writing up that post. You know, the one where the guy goes ‘How is it that you’re still single?’ while his friend is doing squats to burn off his beer?

Yeah, I wonder that too…about myself.

:)

If you haven’t seen the [most overplayed] commercial ever, here it is:

Barney? Justin? MGD 64 man? I’m single.

Tell me: What’s your favorite overplayed commercial?

No one can really blame you with the Barney Butter… it’s just THAT good. And it makes the best OIAJ. By far!

I’m single too, high five.

Difference is, you’re cute and wild and fun, while I’m kind of terrified of the opposite sex (I still think guys have cooties of some form). So obviously, them guys are just terrified of an intimidatingly attractive gal like you, or they think you’re taken already. Or…perhaps you just haven’t found the right guy. Who wants to mess around with the wrong ones anyway? Be patient and he will come. ;-)

My favorite overplayed commercial ? It is for paper towels, and there is an elephant that charges through someone’s house to clean up a spill — it is a super dumb commercial but the cartoon elephant at the end it so adorable so I like it.

I also really like the Bravo commercial — for Bravo — where it shows all of the “Stars” of Bravo at a dinner party. I don’t know why I like it, but I do! Maybe because I know who all the people are?

You are too funny. All I’m sweating out these days is garlic. :/ I put it in EVERYTHING.

Nut butter amazins. That’s exactly what’s in Nut butter – amazins :)
And you are too cute!! :) I love that commercial too.

Is it getting coolege where you are? Cause I heard that the cooler weather actually makes us eat more..like hibernation. But you probably already knew that. :P Oh, and I have a Justin in my cupboard! Can’t wait to try him out :P haha that sounds totally wrong. But you know.

Oh girl, I hear ya on those cravings! Mine come on strong too, but I choose to roll with it as well.

Hmmm, overplayed commercial? The only time I watch TV is in the wee hours of the morning, and most of the commercials that come on are for Windex. But I guess those are kinda funny. :)

Why are all beer commercials the funniest?! My favorite commercial is the Dos Equis one with the “Most Interesting Man In The World.” I always smile when that commercial comes on. (PS – Can you believe I never saw the MGD64 commercial before right now? Wierd. I know.)

BARNEY STINSON AND JUSTIN BIEBER are why you’re still single.

Sorry. That was my first thought. Don’t worry, we all go through awesome/lame eating habits once in a while… ;) You have an excuse, though!

Haha! I too have a mean obsession with nut butters. Have you seen the Zappos commercial where the girl returns the Nike running clothes for a deep fryer!? Too funny! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ja2DRxUiEE4 Enjoy! Hope you get a few giggles :)

Cravings? I can tell you a thing or two about those. Reading your blog has compelled me to get some Justin’s nut butter this weekend. If my Whole Foods doesn’t have them, I may flip out.

1. Nut butter eats are never lame.
2. I have been eating peanut butter cookies (pb+agave+egg) like it is my JOB. Which is practically is since I am unemployed.

Strawberry banana will forever be my favorite combination of yogurt or smoothie. Strawb Banana 2%!!!! I must find this!!! I’ve been loving the 2% fage. The o% flavored Chobanis have been too sweet for me. Hmmm, I still have my barney butter sample from HLS swag…must find it!

Oh dear me, we were dying reading this post! Yes, we. I’m sitting next to Joe and we both read it and were cracking up. You see, just a couple days ago I went to a spinning class and I kept smelling the granola I made the night before. I kept thinking, “Wow, I smell really good and I wonder if anyone else can smell my granola?!” haha for real, though, it was in my pores!!! I have to go read your other posts, so excited to see what Peter has been up to. Oh girl, you are just hilarious and wonderful and beautiful even with your wacky expressions!

I was very impressed with the food that you showed us from Peter’s Kitchen! It looked so vibrant and healthy – just the way it should be. :)

I took a mini blog break because I went on a real life vacation, so I have lots to catch up on! Good to see that life is treating you well. :)

My favorite commercial is the Bing one where these dudes are on motorcycles, and one of them uses GPS. Another one of the guys goes, “How do THEY know where we are, man??” and it cracks me up :-)

Oh! And I love the Lance Armstrong commercial where he’s like FEED THE WARRIOR! haha

I think it’s great that you know your body so well :) There was definitely a time in my life where I wouldn’t have been able to handle eating that much nut butter… but now I realize that my body actually needs it. I average a big jar of tahini per week! … And yes, most often my sweat smells like sesame seeds. No joke.

I can’t think of my favorite overplayed commercial, but I know my LEAST favorite is that Chase commercial with the couple. You know the one where the wife could’ve spent their points on a fancy fun vacation but she spends it on that dress she’s wearing? AWFUL. I’d be so pissed if I was the husband.

After that, I hate all the Chase commercials with those two in it.. haha

I’m still single too. And I love it! “All the single ladies, now put your hands up, oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh!” :D

Sometimes I swear I can smell my food on me too! Like salmon, Subway subs, and onions!

I love the Lowes commercial with the couple that buys their first house. I find all of the exaggerated events that they go through hilarious :) I hope I don’t have any problems that intense when I purchase my first! here’s the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAxxv8JmI5c

Glad you’re enjoying the CHO! Isn’t the creaminess difference in the 2% fabulous? Amazing what just a few grams of fat can do. :) Thanks, Allie!
