Banana Grahams

19 ripe bananas. 3 people. No prob, Bob.

We’ve been consuming bananas like monkeys this past weekend! So maybe monkeys don’t eat banana oatmeal and banana soft serve but you get the idea. With the help of our freezer, Magic Bullet and some graham crackers, these bananas have been disappearing before our eyes.

I’ve got 2 simple and quick healthy dessert recipes to share with you. Are you ready, Freddie?

Banana S’mores

I was a Girl Scout for 13 years (that’s more than half my life!). Needless to say, I’ve enjoyed s’mores many many times in my life.

This time, however, I replaced the marshmallows with banana slices and the campfire with a toaster oven.

Watch and learn…

300*F for ~7 min.

Ready for s’more?

Banana Ice Cream Sandwiches

Banana soft serve in between two graham crackers. That’s it.

It doesn’t get any easier than that.

The creamy texture of the banana ‘ice cream’ paired with the sweet, crumbly graham crackers rivals any ice cream sandwich on the market.

Gimme s’more please!!!

OMG. LOVE your wickedly fun and creative ideas!!! The only thing I can really think of with bananas is banana oats and bread. So boring.

The ONLY thing in the world that could possibly make those better are a dab of nut butter in between the gooey chocolate. :)

What a great idea to use bananas instead of marshmallows!!! I’ve been craving s’mores for awhile but haven’t been able to get myself to eat them because they are junk food. If there is a banana on it, at least it is kinda healthy :) Thanks for the idea!

Now I REALLY wish I wasn’t allergic to bananas. :( Those recipes look so incredibly tasty. Oh and I know you love Barney Butter so I thought I’d let you know that I’m having a Barney Butter giveaway on my blog. I hope you’ll enter. :)

I have four ripe bananas but no graham crackers. RATS. I’m obsessed with the little foil-wrapped packages though…so cute!!!

Those s’mores look SO good. Such a great idea! I’m a former girl scout too ;) I’d pick your s’mores in a heartbeat over any we made at camp!

Genius! I’ve been craving s’mores this summer, but I can’t bring myself to buy a big bag of sugary marshmallows (because I have a habit of eating them straight out of the bag before they even touch a graham cracker).

Allie! I have a ton of bananas — somehow I haven’t been eating 2 per day like usual and I have a bunch in the freezer too — reading “soft banana pillows” made me want to have that right now. Awesome ideas!

Bananas, graham crackers, chocoalte…all of my sweet comfort foods in one recipe! All I need to add to make this even better would be almond butter :)

Lauren and Emily–
You’re rubbing it in that I have NO NUT BUTTER left in this house :)

Those looks seriously good- esp the smores!! I rarely buy marshmellows because they tend to disappear quite quickly around me ;) Bananas are an awesome sub!!
I love the soft serve idea too- I made some mint-chocolate chip banana soft serve a few months ago and put them in chocolate grahams… THEN I put them back in the freezer for a few hours. The grahams got soft JUST LIKE an ice cream sandwich!!! It was amazing. Here’s my link! http://masterofherromaine.blogspot.com/2010/07/last-day-of-work-mint-chocolate-chip.html

I was a Girl Guide for years too! :D I’ve always loved real s’mores cooked over a campfire, but both these desserts look just as good!

Kelly–
Yes I do! We have a food processor but it’s 15+ years old and I have no idea where all the parts are! With the MB, I just add a splash of almond milk to get things going. By splash, I mean literally a tsp.
