So much to ketch up on! My mom ran away with my half-written post on her laptop today, hence the delayed post. My laptop just turned 4 years old (which means 80 years old in generation Y/blogger speak) so it’s somewhat dilapidated. Blogging on my mom’s new Macbook Pro is so much easier, especially because it has a built-in camera card reader. That being said, my laptop better last another 80 years because this gal has no pennies to spare!

Yesterday was another active day. I started with 60 min. on the elliptical while watching the latest Top Chef DC episode (Go Kelly!!). Later, I played tennis with my dad. I refueled in between workouts with plenty of carbs and protein so I had enough energy to play. If I don’t fuel enough, playing tennis can get very frustrating, very quickly.
Today, I completed another 60 min. on the elliptical and 15 min. of incline walking on the treadmill. I was feeling a bit sore, so I decided to hold off on any strength training.

Now for the highlights and lowlights from this past weekend….
Along with Banana S’mores, I had a tasty wrap and some chips.

Leftover Feta Chickpea Tomato Salad with spring mix in a whole grain wrap.

Side of whole grain tortilla chips. The highlight of this meal.

My dad got these from Target and they are fabulous. The ingredients are quite impressive for chips! Quinoa? Brown rice flour? Sunflower seeds?

I also walked over to Target just to browse and of course came back with food…in the form of more carbs!
I got Quaker Oatmeal Squares and Cinnamon Raisin Ezekiel English Muffins. It’s been far too long since I last had these. They are about $1 cheaper from Target than Whole Foods….cha-ching.

I gave myself a pat on the back for getting this cereal. This is my absolute favorite cereal in the whole wide world and to be honest, I’m kinda scared of it. However, it was on sale so I figured what the hey. I don’t like to be scared of food. I don’t want to deprive myself of anything, especially if it’s something I love so dearly. The only way to get over my fear is to embrace it.
It sounds like I’m talking about major life goals…nope, still talking about cereal
.

High to the frickin’ light.
Proof that we buy more than just carbs in a box…

I also got this SoBe lifewater from Target. I was drinking it on my walk home when something fell from the bottle into my mouth.
Ummm come again!?!!

THIS!!!!
IN MY MOUTH!!!!

WHAT….IS….THIS!?
Oh my oh my oh my. It was slimy and muddy. Ahhhhh!!! @*($&*@#^&@%#!

Not okay!!!
It came out in one round piece AFTER I finished the whole bottle. I tore it into 2 pieces just to try and figure out what it was…no idea!! Obviously, that was a major lowlight from the weekend. Blegh.

Another lowlight? I used up the last of my wheatgrass powder.

No wheatgrass goes to waste over here.
Berry Banana Wheatgrass Protein Smoothie

Cinnamon Raisin Ezekiel English Muffin w/ pumpkin butter. Highlight.

Guava!! My favorite fruit is back–a highlight for sure.
We got 3 bargain guava and 3 regular priced guava yesterday at the store.
3 bargain=$1
3 ‘on sale’ for $1.99/lb=$4.48
Yikes.

My camera’s highlight…

I snapped this photo from our balcony. You can see the Appalachian Mountains in the distance.
So pertyful.

Tell me: What were the highlights from your weekend? I hope you didn’t have any nasty-slimy-discs-in-your-bottle lowlights!

That reminds me how good the Ezekial Cinnamon Raisen English muffins are… I haven’t had those in forever!
And that’s SO GROSS about the drink! Ew!
Highlight-Saturday night with some pretty awesome people… food highlight? Overnight oats with coconut kefir and a crumbled vegan blueberry muffin.
Lowlight- Dinner tonight at Longhorn Steakhouse. SO not even worth it.
AGghh! Grosss, you should complain to the company and they’ll probably give you SoBe water for life
Holy cow! You have contacted the company, right?! That’s soooo weird!!! Highlight: time with family and friends this wknd. You need some more crunchy BB for those oatmeal squares!
Those pictures you took of the view really are beautiful! I am seriously so curious about what that brown disc thingy is!!!
I too love Oatmeal Squares Cereal! Yum, so good.
I am so grossed out by your Sobe experience. Ewwie.
OMG ewwwwwwwwww!!!!!! I’m sure you can write to the company or something. Awful!!
I just bought a sobe life water from target today! I’m gonna inspect it fully before consuming. Sorry it had to happen to you!
Highlight was shopping with my mom! We hardly hang out anymore. A lowlight? Laundry!
That is one of my favourite cereals as well! I love the texture and crunch!
I’m sorry about the gross experience with the beverage. Write the company a letter to let them know what happened!
DEFINITELY call SoBe and complain! Not that I’d want to drink any products from them after that (even if they are free!), but they should know. And be more careful. That could have made you sick, and not just from it being nasty!
My fav cereal: crispix. I love how simple it is, and how it crunches and is different colors. Also loooooooove maple/brown sugar oatmeal. Eat it almost everyday. This weekend I went to visit my bf and we made french toast…not gonna lie, I missed my oatmeal!
My highlights were : revamping my blog (check it out!), making my husband his first apple pie of the season, getting a lot of good workouts in, and relaxingggg!
I hope you call SoBe / Target and tell them about your crazy exxperience!
At least it wasn’t a snail!
ewwiee! that thing from the SoBe was gross! the only thing that would even make sense to me is if it was part of the underneath of the cap..cuz sometimes theres things like paper underneath those, if you know what i mean..like, not paper, but…oh forget it. haha. that’s so gross & mysterious!
highlight: i got to have my FIRST whole foods experience EVER!! HOTBAR AND ALL!!..it was foodgasmic
lowlight: it was the last week of summer; i have to go back to school tomorrow!
Ewww, yuck, I hate finding gross things in my food/containers, sorry about that!
Gorgeous sunset, what the view!!!!!
I also LOVE that cereal. Especially the maple flavor. I understand your fear, it’s hard to only have one bowl–or even two for that matter!
By the way, I just found your blog through Twitter and I’m new to the blogging world (just started my blog a few days ago). So expect to hear more from me.
Allie, I’d be careful with those Oatmeal Squares…. they are like crack! I’m addicted to the maple ones!
Ewww that bottle thing sounds horrible! You should send it back to the company with a strongly worded letter!!
And all the nut butters I ateto go with it..bliss!!
My weekend highlight was my 15mile run, for sure
Eeeeewwwww! I hope you are feeling okay after that little bottle mishap :/ I would be writing them a nasty little e-mail if that happened to me! That’s just NOT okay!
Congrats on going for the cereal
Deprivation of any kind sucks… and if you love it, you deserve to enjoy it
<3 Tat
ps. Highlight of my weekend? Moving back home (my job ended)!
Oh my gosh, what the heck is that thing in your water? Ohhh that’s just wrong!!! Well, at least you didn’t swallow it!
Yuck.
Hmm, my weekend highlight was making sushi for the first time.
Have a wonderful day Allie.
What. the HELL IS THAT? It looks like an Adora disk, but obviously NOT as delicious. Seriously, file a complaint! You have photos! Man…
The highlight of my weekend was SLEEPING! Seriously, there was a lot of that.
AHHHH thats creepy!!! i really hope you contacted the company!! thats very disturbing i can only imagine!
hightlight of my weekend was enjotying the sun and warmth while we still have it!
That “thing” in the bottle looks gross. Will you contact the company about it?
LOVE Quaker oat squares. And I totally know how a box can vanish ASAP!
I’m with everybody on it : you should contact the company. So gross!
My highlight of the weekend : enjoying breakfast (oatmeal with PB) at home on Saturday (I work too early for that during the week).
My lowlight : too salty sundried tomatoes on my pesto pastas. Yak…
By the way, Quaker Oatmeal Squares are one of my top three cereals too. PB Puffins and Blueberry and cinnamon Optimum being the other two.
So yucky you found that in your sobe lifewater. So much for being good for you right haha.
My highlights from this weekend were Sunday and Monday. I played football, went out to lunch and dinner and ran 12 miles.
Low-lights spent Friday hung-over
Ewww what the heck?! That is so gross! You should send an email to the company about that. They’ll probably send you some free coupons.
My highlights from the weekend were a bike ride and hike with my friends, going out for Greek food and just vegging out in front of a movie with them. Lowlights? Missing out on my town’s rib fest! I don’t even eat ribs, but I like to go every year anyway.
What beautiful pictures Allie!
But gross gross gross about that dark thing in your drink!??!?!?! What the heck? are you going to write to the company and tell them about it?
Oooh I love the last two pictures, really pretty.
The highlights of my weekend were tasting a ton of recipes for my blog (YUM!!!), shopping with my mama and buying a bunch of things from Williams-Sonoma and Crate and Barrel. Oh yeah and froyo for lunch, so tasty.
Since the water was apricot-strawberry flavored, it may have been a dried apricot/strawberry that was used in the extraction process and fell into the wrong machine. But the fact that it’s /black/ is worrisome. I would complain…though they’d probably just send you a coupon for free water, and I’m not sure I’d want to drink it again after that!
Oh my gosh…that is so gross! I seriously wonder what it was, to have survived being processed, bottled, shipped, and then drank and still be solid/slimy – ick!
Highlight of the weekend – spending 5 days of QT with the hubster and buying a deep freeze (to eliminate the entire contents of our tiny apartment freezer dumping out when we open the door).
Lowlight – Not being able to sleep last night after my body adjusted to long-weekend late nights!
That is the weirdest thing ever to find in a Sobe bottle!! yuck yuck yuck!
Love the pictures of the sky – sooo beautiful:)
was that sobe from the reston target?! that is absolutely crazy.
im scared!! what the heck is that!!! k at least it didnt move and doesnt have legs but still!!!
im just glad u had enough highlights to make up for that lol!!
xoxo
My weekend: Highlights – the Buffalo Wing Festival; Lowlights – accomplishing NADA!
That disk looks like part of the seal that is usually on the inside of the cap. I agree that you should write to the company though.
OMG!! My friend found something like that in a Sunny D pouch before..only it was a lot bigger and more colors, but it was still slimy and gross. She sent it in for research and tried to sue. I mean that’s disgusting!!! I’d definitely complain and take it somewhere to get it analyzed. I mean you don’t want to get sick from it or anything. :/
AHH, I hope you wrote them an email. That is NASTY! Glad I don’t drink Sobe stuff, though I guess I am going to start inspectin’ my bottled beverages
Ew ew ew!!!! So gross!!! I hope they give you a refund and a lifetime supply of the stuff…not that you’d really want to drink it. I’m kind of scared of them now too!!
oh my gosh!! what was that??? i just was drinking one today????
