Another whirlwind day here in the land of Foodbuzz! Once again, the day is only halfway through yet I have done and eaten plenty. I’m going to jump right in because there’s quite a lot to show you!
Missed the posts from the beginning of my trip? Check them out: Greetings from San Francisco!, Big Fan o’ San Fran, and Foodbuzz FoodBaby #1.

I woke up again with the intention of running but something about running in a foreign neighborhood when it’s pitch dark is a little unsettling. Plus. I needed the extra hour of sleep. Excuses, excuses
.
I opted for a Blueberry Chobani with Uncle Sam cereal and mango chunks for bfast. I also had 1/2 an AllieBar for good measure.

After the 20 min. walk –> train –> walk to the festival, I was nice ‘n’ toasty so I went with a venti 1/2 caf iced coffee.

Then it was time to attend the breakout sessions.

First up? A Photography Workshop presented by Laura Flowers (The Cooking Photographer) and Marc Matsumoto (No Recipes).

I learned some helpful tips that I’ll touch on later.

For the second hour, I took a break and walked over to The Ferry Building with Heather to visit the much-talked-about, must-visit Ferry Plaza Farmers’ Market.
My lungs needed some fresh air and my legs needed some movement.

Of course, samples were involved
.

My partner in crime.

We briefly walked through Sur La Table but I MUST go back tomorrow or Monday!!

I could have spent hours there but alas, we had to rush back to catch the 3rd session. We’ll be back, though.

I attended the session on Video Blogging. Again, I learned some helpful tips. I just might work on a video blog post some day
. Uhhh we’ll see about that one, haha.
***
Then it was off to the Metreon for the Taste Pavilion.
…basically, a TON of samples, snacks, and mini meals provided by a slew of vendors big and small.
…which means a lot of chatting, eating and the makings of Foodbaby #2!

The view was spectacular!

LET THE FOOD BABY BEGIN!!!!!
I had about 1-2 of some samples. 3-4 of some other samples and 5-6 some other samples
.
479 Popcorn

Chanterelle mushroom soup

I had plenty of grapes, almonds and SWISS CHEESE! So much swiss cheese has been consumed this weekend.

Finally, some greens.

Annie the Baker Cookies. Holy delicious! These cookies taste like raw cookie dough but they are perfectly safe to eat.

TWO Chocolate toffee cookies

With my favorite cookie monster, Tina.

I went back for a 3rd one, Cocoa Loco. Ohhhh boy.

Chocolate heaven. I had several squares of the Sea Salt & Nibs.

Ghirardelli s’mores

Amazing [corn syrup-free] toffee brittle. There were so many unique flavors. My favorite was the Chai Tea Granola Pecan.

Butternut squash and apple soup with savory shortbread

Colossal shrimp cocktail

More Mission Mini Cupcakes

I had a Ginger Carrot and a Red Velvet.

Buitoni shot a video of Gabriela and I dancing and made it into a flip book. Maybe I’ll shoot a video of the flip book in action so you can see it.

Now I’m sipping on a hot passion tea from Starbucks and trying to digest FoodBaby #2 as quickly as possible before our Gala Dinner tonight! I am stuffed to the brim but I need to make room for more food ASAP.
My FoodBaby is about to grow into a FoodToddler. Let the eating begin…again!
Tell me: Any wonderful FoodBaby memories you have? A wedding perhaps? Do share!

Love the picture with you two in the pink boas- very stylin!
You’ve been having an awesome time so far. I never really knew so much went into food photography..I mean, I know good lighting/angles/cameras and all that help. But do some bloggers really have lighting sets and all that? That takes it to a whole new level.
I love the last photo. It’s very blogger paparazzi -ish
Enjoy the night!
I am speechless. Though I am curious, too: why are they called “breakout” sessions?
I have a literal food baby right now – the baby in my stomach that makes me crave foods even though I don’t have room for them.
That tasting pavilion experience sounds very worth the food baby! Yum!
Metreonnnn…that’s my old stomping grounds! I miss San Francisco so much! The Ferry Building is super fun too, full of delicious eats. Try the chocolates – they’re tiny bites for about $2, but they are OH so good. I almost knocked over big crates of mushrooms in a moment of chocolate with ginger bits bliss. That looks like the sort of convention/festival I would adore. Look at all those tasty bites!
I can’t believe how amazing the festival looks!! I am so INCREDIBLY jealous, and I wish I could see everyone again!!
Hmm I had a pretty large food baby when I went to an Ethiopian restaurant in London. That was a big -un. Sooooo worth it tho!
Lovin all your Foodbuzz posts. San Fran looks gorgeous! I am so wanting to get my hands on those cookie dough balls…yum! Oh, and you totally rock in that pink boa! You should think about adding it to your wardrobe!
lol
That picture of you two dressed up in the boas and hats is so cute!
And I’m so jealous of all that spectacular food! I would not be able to control myself around those dough balls. I love cookie dough! Back in the day my friends and I would buy a package of Pilsbury cookie dough and just eat it raw out of the package haha.
fun fun fun! all thatfood makes amazing!
Oooh those cookies look delish – they almost look like raw cookie dough!
Soon you’ll have Foodgrandchildren and Foodnephews… I’m trying not to be completely jealous of your weekend affair in SF. You are hitting up some fabulous locations & the photos look beautiful ++ lots of cupcakes!
Allie that food looks so amazing!!!
I love the Thanksgiving Food Baby – full of turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, sweet potato pie, pumpkin pie and crecent rolls
All of these pictures of San Fran are giving me a serious case of wanderlust. I’m dying to go there ASAP so I can eat my body weight in classic San Fransisco sourdough bread…yumm (I think. I’ve never actually had authentic sourdough from there!).
Aaand, I had wonderful food babies every Tuesday night in college at a place called The Little Grill, which had unlimited (and delicious) Mexican food for $6.95. SO GREAT, especially for us broke college kids.
I have many, many memories of foodbabies (including one that I have right now from too much bread!), but none of them are wonderful! May I adopt yours?
Foodbuzz is seriously a foodie’s dream. Jealous!
Corn free toffee brittle? Be still my heart!
Where was all the savory food?!?
Good thing I didn’t attend this conference. Looks like too many sweets.
Did you see the honey lady at the market? She has all this flavored honey = so good! And sur la table, man if I had money, i’d still be broke because i’d buy everything in there. Did you end up coming away with anything?
AAAAAHHHH! I can’t watch your pics because I’ll turn too green with envy
