…do/eat as the Foodbuzzers.
Last night was quite possibly the most elegant dinner I’ve had in a long time (or ever…?). Keep in mind I haven’t hit wedding age quite yet!
We started off with a lovely walk back down to The Ferry Building, the place where the Farmer’s Market was held earlier in the day.

The first hour was spent chatting, mingling and nibbling with my fellow Foodbuzz Festival attendees. I started with a glass of white.

Hors d’oeuvres
Zuchcchini and parmesan madeleines with salmon

Herb polenta cups

Cheese gougere w/ gruyere fondue

The actual dinner took place inside The Ferry Building, on the second floor. Everything was so fancy!

The menu was simply spectacular.

The golden beet tart had a texture similar to pumpkin pie–silky smooth and oh so creamy.

Multigrain bread with each course…to really clean up my plate(s).

Wine pairings with every course courtesy of Bonny Doon Vineyard.

The scallops were my favorite part of the entire meal. Devine! My knife cut through ‘em like butter.

Instead of the lamb, I opted for the fish option, a filet of cod. It too was buttery soft but the butternut squash puree stole the show for me.

I thought the dessert was just alright. The fresh fig was fabulous but the sponge cake wasn’t my cuppa tea. I guess that’s why I had some decaf coffee with it
.

I couldn’t believe how much food I could fit in my stomach. Each bite just got better and better and better. I couldn’t put my fork down!
Like they say….when in the land of Foodbuzz, do (or eat) as the Foodbuzzers.
Off to the last Foodbuzz event: brunch. Then it’ll be time to explore San Fran (in the rain!). Any recommendations for what to do/see/eat in SF?

Check out the Boudin Bakery? They make the best bread in all different kinds of shapes, Mickey Mouse, turtles, seasonal! http://boudinbakery.com/
Gorgeous!!! I don’t think I would have been able to put my fork down, either!
When we were in San Fran, we did all the tourist stuff..Azkaban, the trolleys, driving out to the see the Redwoods..those kind of things. The only “foodie” thing was Ghirardelli Square which was pretty cool. Oh, and Fisherman’s Warf has *amazing* seafood.
To keep within the food theme, definitely go to Ghirardelli Square! http://www.ghirardelli.com/shops/ghirardellisq.aspx
And, I highly recommend Lombard Street – San Francisco’s crookedest street.
I love San Francisco! It is definitely one of my favorite places to visit.
I’ve been a consistent reader of your blog for several months now, but this is my first time commenting. Just want to say thank you for your beautiful photos of food and sites, along with your well-written, articulate blog. I barely discovered this wonderful food blog community just this year, and it all started with a Google search for almond butter.
have a great rest of the trip in SF!
Shooting at a shallower depth of field this trip? Either way looks beautiful! I wish I were there and not just roasting brussles at home……
Love following along with this trip!
That looks so good! Glad you had an amazing meal
I’m so glad we got to hang out more this weekend- and jealous that you’re staying in SF for another day!! I hope we see each other again soon so we can bond over our sweet tooth ways
Have a safe trip home tomorrow!!
Those scallops do look incredible! It makes me wish I wasn’t allergic to them… I remember I actually really liked them before developing an allergy.
Have fun on your last day in San Fran!
I have been to many weddings lately & none of them are quite that extravagent!
I think I would have gone the seafood route, too – I love scallops and fish! Mmm. Eating your heart out at Foodbuzz = insanely amazing.
Whooo! Golden beet tart- intriguing!
From allllll the photos I’ve seen from SF this weekend, I am imagining a room full of people taking photos of food. How do you get any eating done?
Love all your photos from last night! I loved that dinner but I’m bummed I didn’t get to meet you!
ALLIE!!!! I just realized I don’t have a picture with you!! This is devastating…but if I do happen to be at NoVa in the summer, we’ll have to meet up! It was awesome seeing you, and I’m kicking myself because I didn’t realize there was a cod option and I’d been craving fish this whole semester.
By the way, you are so freaking adorable. >__<
I really love your photos. Wasnt that dinner amazing. Glad we came this weekend. It was great to meet you

You did a great job of covering the FB Festival. I was there, too, and I had a great time. I’m sorry I didn’t get to meet you personally, but I agree that it was all fantastic and that gala dinner was excellent!

That golden beet tart looks amazing — well, so does the rest of the food too. Wish I could have been there!
I would have to stuff my stomach full there too! Everything looks delicious and amazing.

Allie, Love those grey boots you’re wearing in Kath’s photos. What brand?
Even after seeing the same food recaps, I’m STILL drooling over them!
wow foodbuzz looks great!!
Not to sound creepy or anything… but I want to be you. I mean, I want to eat that food. OH MY.
Thank you!
It looks simply divine. I think this may be my first time commenting although I’ve been reading a while. It’s great to be able to live vicariously through you and experience the delights of the Foodbuzz Conference through your blog
