Greetings from Paradise!

IMG_2623.jpg

(Not gonna lie. Before coming here, I pictured about 8,000,000 young people in bikinis standing shoulder to shoulder across the entire island.)

Oh how I pictured wrong.

IMG_2629.jpg

(This is the view from our unit!!)

The resort we are staying at is absolutely stunning. It is hands down the nicest resort I have ever witnessed. We own a timeshare so every year we get to exchange for a week at a resort. We got really lucky and somehow got the opportunity to exchange for this beautiful [fairly NEW] resort!

If you’re looking into investing in something, buy a timeshare!

IMG_2620.jpg

All three of our jaws dropped to the floor as soon as we arrived. We literally ran through our unit saying “WOW!!!!” over and over again to each other.

IMG_2615.jpg

There is a bar down by the huts where you can swim up for a drink :) . I’ll take a pina colada, thanks.

IMG_2633.jpg

We arrived just as the sun was setting. I pulled out my camera just in time.

Here are a few photos of the inside.

Master Bedroom (we pack light).

My bedroom!!

My kitchenette.

The gym. I’m not going to sacrifice precious vacation time to workout but I do hope to get in some activity so I am not irritable and feeling like crapola.

I also hope to get in some runs on the beach too. FUN!

IMG_2701.JPG IMG_2703.JPG IMG_2704.JPG

After a trip to Walmart for groceries (yep, that’s us), we took a walk on the beach. More on our Walmart excursion later :) . Let’s just say Peter is already talking about going back…tomorrow!

View of our resort from the beach:

IMG_2700.jpg IMG_2691.JPG

Our resort is right across the street from a huge outdoor mall. Ahhh!!

IMG_2706.jpg IMG_2709.jpg

In exchange for listening to timeshare sales presentations (snooze alert), we are getting tickets for all sorts of fun trips and activities (fun!). Plus lots of free resort food—weeee!!

Alright. Off to PLAY!

Tell me: Where’s the nicest place you’ve ever stayed?

Oh. my. gosh.
What a beautiful place to stay! I am overcome with jealousy right now!!
My best place was probably a villa in Portugal when I was 11 or so. There was a family of cats and kittens that lived there, own pool, haaayyyuge house…it was bliss!

Ummm can I catch a quick flight down and join you guys? I promise I’ll make desserts in your kitchen. :) The nicest place I’ve ever stayed was a boutique hotel in Bal Harbour, FL. My three best friends and I got to spend a week there on spring break, paid for by my friend’s dad. We enjoyed every minute of it. :)

I’m sure I don’t have to say this, but definitely enjoy your vacation, Allie! It looks spectacular! :)

Scrub island and/or the Gaige House in napa. Highly recommend both!

That is gorgeous!! Oh my goodness. Glad to hear it’s not crowded with bikini girls, too. Although it’s off season, I’m sure it’s a lot more like that during school breaks and what not. Have fun!!

That resort and suite are amazing! So cool that you actually get your own kitchen at the resort. It’ll be nice to be able to make some of your own meals instead of relying on resort food. Although judging by the looks of that place, I’m sure the food won’t be too bad!

Ahh swim up bars are the best! I hope you enjoy it. ;)

Oooh Ally, I’m so jealous! I’ve never been to Cancun, but I think I might have to add it to my travel list.

I cannot believe you have your own kitchenette. Whenever I stay at a new place I think, hmm, I wonder how photos of my food will look in this lighting?

Wow! Super stylish resort! You’re living in luxury Allie!

I’ve never stayed somewhere as nice as that, but probably the nicest suite I stayed at was several years ago back in France. Can’t remember the name of the place since I was only 8 at the time and could care less lol. I just wanted to lay in the big jacuzzi!!! And sleep in the big comfy bed :)

Your life is so surreal to me. I left home at 18 and have been going through the earned university degrees and keeping myself afloat in the job market on my own. You have a very close family and opportunities, you are blessed.

Wow–that place looks nice! My husband’s family has a timeshare in Florida. We went down the summer after our freshman year of college and it was AWESOME. Besides that, the nicest place I’ve ever stayed was probably our wedding night suite. Gorgeous!

I know exactly where your hotel is! We saw it while we were there in April. About two resorts down to your left (when facing the mall) is a place called Barcelo TuCancun. AWESOME resort! And all inclusive. Maybe next time you go to paradise you can check it out. HAVE FUN!

That’s gorgeous… and I’ve never done first class. Jealous…

When I was fifteen, my mom had a conference in Hawaii, and for some reason the hospital put us up and the most gorgeous hotel with a waterfall in the lobby. Then a couple years after that, we stayed at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego, which was pretty nice. Seems so long ago! I miss family vacays.

SF + Cancun Allie wins! This combination of travel cannot be matched! Hope you aren’t feeling jetlagged. It must be so tiring eating and drinkings all these delicious things, and basking in the gorgeous sun all day! How will you make it through? ;)

Beautiful!!! That looks…like somewhere I want to be lol. On the same business trip that my boss let me fly first class, we stayed in a private, two-story bungalow at the Fairmont. Definitely the nicest experience of my life.

That looks beyond lovely and heavenly right now..I know just where you are staying.

Hmm…nicest place I’ve stayed? Perhaps the Puerto Vallarta Dreams resort…or maybe this place in Torremolinos Spain ;)

Both the grounds and the rooms (heck, even the gym) of that resort are STUNNING. If y’all get around to it, check out a great restaurant in Cancun called Puerto (I think, or something close to it) Madero. It is an Argentinian Steakhouse with really good steaks and seafoord and gorgeous desserts :)

That’s awesome! I have two places that come to mind: the Grand Palladium in Riviera Maya and Secrets Capri in Riviera Maya. Absolutely stunning, all inclusive places!

Anon–

I am very blessed and I am very grateful for my family–especially their love for traveling. My life really isn’t as glamorous as it seems. We haven’t been on vacation in a very long time. I took zero trips during college for spring break/winter break so I suppose this is my ’spring break.’

You are amazing for supporting yourself financially. I wish I could find a job so I could be more financially independent. Hopefully soon!

I have stayed there before; same unit layout as the one you took a picture of. My favourite was the tub! Enjoy. :) And we did the same thing; hop on the bus and to go WM for food to cook or BBQ. Enjoy!
