Look who I found!

IMG_3781.jpg

My mom and I saw a couple apartments and then headed over to the bakery (still under construction). We got a personal tour—It’s coming along quickly but surely! The next time I go down, it’ll be totally complete.

We went next door to Cville Coffee for lunch.

I’m looking at this above photo and thinking…I WOULD cut off bodies and only photograph food! I had part of my mom’s fruit smoothie as an appetizer.

I ordered the Veggie Bean Salad with grilled tofu. It was humongous! I’m a loyal member of the clean plate club and I had to leave some of the beans and olives. They just wouldn’t fit in my stomach!

IMG_3778.JPG

I only tossed ~1/2 cup of olives and beans total, but I definitely shed a tear. I didn’t leave a crumb of the grilled tofu though…so good!

Later, I got an iced half caf coffee.

IMG_3786.jpg

The great apartment search went mmmm…just okay. There were some promising ones and some downright scary ones (the Craigslist ads with no photos :) ).

IMG_3787.jpg

It’s unfortunate that a lot of the great places have cats living in them. Allergic.

We eventually stopped by Faith’s house to say hi and take a look. I might stay in her guest room for a couple weeks if I find a place that doesn’t start leasing until June 1st.

Afterwards, we walked around downtown to check out the cute shops and restaurants.

IMG_3800.JPG

Just as beautiful as I remembered it.

IMG_3788.jpg

We got frozen yogurt from Sweet Frog (a must!)…

IMG_3791.jpg IMG_3792.jpg IMG_3793.jpg IMG_3799.jpg

Self serve!

Cake batter (!!!), Red Velvet (!!), Cookies ‘n’ Cream (!), Very Berry (dairy free), and Taro. Topped with some blueberries and chopped almonds.

IMG_3797.JPG

The cake batter was by far the best! It was super sweet though and I missed original tart.

I was still full from lunch (seriously full!), but we figured we should eat before hitting the road. We stopped at Bizou because it was hoppin’.

IMG_3801.jpg IMG_3807.jpg

My mom got the Pecan-Crusted Trout. I had a few bites. Good, but I would’ve preferred 10x more pecans.

IMG_3809.JPG

I ordered the Grilled Portobello Salad with goat cheese, grilled onions, and tomatoes. Delicious–the perfect portion of food.

IMG_3815.JPG

Dining alfresco!

IMG_3808.jpg

Finally, it was time to say goodbye and hit the road. But I’ll be back!

Time to continue house hunting via House Hunters on HGTV :) .

Omg Bizou is AMAZING! I’ve gotten their butternut squash ravioli and roasted chicken, and both were so delicious.

And taro yogurt? Gimme Some!

I hope your apartment search went well!!

I think it’s great that you’re moving to Cville! It looks like a great place to live and you’ve got a network of people there! i’m in a similar post grad position right now, not always the most fun but such a great time to try new things and places! Good luck!
Also…Oh my goodness, your frozen yogurt made me drool a little bit. First thing I’m doing when I get back to the US is getting frozen yogurt!

I am glad to hear that your apartment hunt is going well – I am sure you will be able to find a place that doesn’t allow cats! My dad is extremely allergic as well!

The coffee shop was so cute – and your salad looks amazing! If I were you, I would be hittin’ up that yogurt shop like every day – love the self-service :)

I am massively jealous of your frozen yogurt & your big c-ville adventures! I’m moving to Asheville in June, and while I have a place, I don’t have a job yet, so we’re kind of in the opposite but same predicament!

Well I hope you find a place — too bad about the cats, I didn’t realize you were THAT allergic. Jason is allergic to dogs/cats too, but as long as they aren’t in the same room as us he seems to be ok.

At least Faith has a room available so you have some time to find something. Or maybe they could just install some bunk beds next to that big ass oven? That would keep you warm :)

Glad you found some potentials! Searching for the perfect place is always hard work!! And what yummy eats. The lunch salad looks incredible. If that place was next door to where I worked, I’d have trouble not going every day!

Love that you’re going to be working for Matt and Kath at GH. Personally, though, I think you should sell your Alliebars there, too… :) Your own franchise? I think SO!

I wish you the best of luck! I hate looking for apartments! Craiglist ads without pictures are an automatic “no” for me!

Is it bad that I already have a Charlottesville “to-do/visit” list a page long? No? Yes? Maybe? Hah! I’m so happy for you and can’t wait to see how your move goes! :)

Ever since Kath first posted that tofu bowl a few weeks ago I’ve been drooling over it! Tofu, veggies and beans is all I could ever want in a meal!

Sorry the apartment hunt wasn’t so successful though. Hopefully you’ll find something soon!
