Snap, Bubbly, and Walk

I lied!

No, not about the cookie dough. That was indeed cookie dough. I lied about going running.

It was unrunnable outside today. The temperature was perfect and the sun was shining, but the wind was out of control! The trees looked like they were going to snap in half. I really wasn’t in the mood to run and I had a inkling the scoops of cookie dough were going to feel like sharp rocks in my stomach.

Instead, I went out for a looooong walk. I walked to Wegman’s and back. Not to grocery shop or anything, just to have a destination. I ended up walking 5.3 miles in total.

The best part about walking is you can take photos along the way.

You also appreciate the hills and the wind. See those hilly hills I’m always talking about?

See the sea turtle cloud?

A beautiful creek right by my house.

I found these VA and NC glasses that I am planning on getting. I love them and I have a Groupon!

Go Duke!

The second best part about walking is you can drink kombucha! My throat hurt a little and I needed something bubbly to numb it.

For dinner, I had a monster Mixing Bowl Salad.

Red leaf and romaine lettuce with grilled shrimp, dried tofu cubes and champagne vinaigrette.

Whole wheat tortilla for some carbs

Side of my daily orange.

Cookie dough for dessert! Recipe will be up tomorrow morning.

Have a great night.

Happy Cinco De Mayo!

Sometimes, those long walks are so much better than a run. It was quite windy today! I can still hear the wind now.

I wish I liked shrimp (it’s a texture thing) because whenever I see it, I think it looks good and refreshing!

I used to HATE the texture of shrimp…but obviously that is no longer the case :)

I usually put it in my purse and pull it out to take photos. I sometimes use the DIY bag I made and sometimes I just wrap it in a t-shirt and put it in a regular purse.

We’ve been buying EZ peel shrimp lately (which is really easy to peel) and pan frying it in a little bit of oil. Sometimes, we get head-on shrimp, which just takes a little extra time to clean up.

Haha, your walk to Wegman’s sounds like my walks to Target. I just go to have somewhere to end up.

I love going on long walks! I need to find someplace new… going running so much has made me familiar with everything within 20 miles of my house :)

I love going on walks on days when I don’t feel up to a more intense workout! It looks like it was a perfect day out for you! I went for a walk yesterday too because it was the first day in a while that we actually had sun and not rain. :P

It’s not even funny how badly I want that shrimp salad, omg. I keep forgetting you went to Duke. Me too! (I’ve probably told you that a dozen times now, I have no memory). Go Duke!
