On The Run…Again

Hey hey hey! What’s up?

IMG_6489.jpg

I ended up coming home Saturday night because I had a few days [in a row] off from work. I also wanted to meet up with a few friends, sleep in peace and quiet (!!), and play some tennis.

SlashmyapartmentisdisgustingandIdislikelivingthere.

This morning I went to the gym to RUN. My running (and overall fitness level) has taken a nose dive since the spring due to extreme heat, limited gym options and work. I’m hoping to build up my running endurance again slowly but surely. Since I have trouble running outside when it’s blazing hot, I’ll probably be running on the treadmill (zzzZZZzzz) until it starts to cool down again.

I ran 2 miles and then hopped on the elliptical for another 20 min. I also did a quick round of upper body weights before walking back home.

***

Post workout, I made a GIANT smoothie with spinach, frozen bananas, yogurt, and a packet of Tera’s Whey protein powder I snagged at the Whole Foods closing sale.

It’s been far too long since I’ve had an ice cold smoothie!

***

Then I tossed a freshly picked garden zucchini with leftover shrimp & basil leftover from Peter’s Kitchen last night.

Dessert was half of a pumpkin chocolate chip muffin and some other sweet nibbles.

Alrighty, I’m off to get ready for dinner out with Kat Lobes at an exciting new-to-our-area restaurant (!!!). We’re eating early so I can come back and watch The Bachelorette. I’m cool like that.

Catch ya later!

I do most of my runs on the treadmill in the summer. I actually really enjoy it because its my one excuse to catch up on trashy tv. :)

I’m in a very similar position right now! I started a new job waitressing, which gives me NO motivation to run, and all my free time is spent resting and relaxing! Plus the heat leaves me panting and sweating just sitting down…

Enjoy your peaceful days :)

I feel you on your running woes – I feel like my fitness has decreased so much since starting work this summer too. It can be so discouraging! :P

glad that you escaped to some quiet this weekend! After living in Chicago where I could hear my neighbors constantly, it is such a relief to live somewhere quiet. Hope that your new apartment is more peaceful!

I also have been slacking on running since it’s been so hot, but managed a pretty good 2 miles this morning too – outdoors! I am happy that I got it in before the 100 degree temps come tomorrow, ugh!

When I looked at that muffin, a distinct, Cookie Monster voice popped up in my head and said “Must Have Muffin!” It is a travesty that there is no Great Harvest in my area!

I’m loving the first picture! :) You so gangsta. I have totally experienced that type of living situation. My sophomore year of college I lived with 3 senior girls and one of their boyfriends that thought he could stay every night without pitching in for rent. I remember they would use every single dish out of the sink until they were all gone before doing the dishes. I absolutely couldn’t stand that so I finally ended up removing my dishes and locking them in my room. lol.

I’m sorry your apartment is so awful! I also live in a building filled with drunk college students so I feel your pain! I’m counting down the months until we can move out. I hope your next place is better! Do you have it lined up yet?

What’s your roommate like? Do you even talk to them or just keep to yourself?

I have one roommate who I rarely ever see. Our work schedules are completely opposite. She’s a nice girl my age. I like her a lot!
