An Early Bird Is Born

I woke up at 7:00 AM again this morning. I’m telling you, something fishy is going on.

I used to open the blinds at night hoping the sun would wake me up in the morning (it never did). I used to set 12 alarms and hope that I’d stop snoozing and wake up by the last one (as of this week I don’t even set one alarm!). I used to be able to fall back asleep no matter what as long as it was before 12 noon (not anymore).

What happened to me? It’s like I aged 30 years overnight! I kind of like it, actually.

I took advantage of the extra time this morning by getting some work done online and packing for Charlottesville. <–the bare minimum this time!!

You’re telling me you don’t hang your clothes from the ceiling light fixture?

IMG_8224w.jpg

It’s much easier to pack when you only have one suitcase to fill…

I was planning on running today, but thanks to my accident yesterday I ended up reading about running on the elliptical instead.

My ankle felt okay to elliptical, but not to run so I played it safe.

I found a more legit brace, too. Though I must say the bra + sweatband worked way better! After 30 minutes, I lifted for a bit and called it a day.

Then I ate, packed, read and napped. Tomorrow it’s back to work! Vacation’s over…

Some of you guessed correctly yesterday…

I won’t lie, these tasted pretty good together. Like sea salt and chocolate!

I’m waiting for Peter to come home now, so I can have one last Peter cooked meal for the month of August. Have a great night!

Maybe you’ve turned into an early bird after spending time at GH & working the morning shift! I’m jealous of your ability to wake up early – all I want to do is sleep in, even when I have a huge amount of tasks to accomplish :)

We must have switched circadian rhythms or something because I used to be an early bird and now I have to draaaaag myself out of bed…like an hour after my alarm goes off!! I’m starting to think I have sleep apnea though. I think I’ll borrow my dad’s nose strips tonight and see if it makes a difference :D

The whole aging 30 years has happened to me too! YIKES! If I wake up in the middle of the night I can’t fall back asleep and I’m just done for, I have NEVER in my life been like this…. Ah, I want to sleep again….. Crazy how your make shift brace worked better. HA!

Your body clock’s probably all shifted around from working at Great Harvest. It happened to me every semester!

Oh lawd — if I were you I’d be thinking the same fishy thing!!! I stay up so late it’s awful, an awful habit. But I like it. Stay up past midnight, wake up midday — SCORESKI. Mwahhhh ice cream!

I totally understand what you mean about the sleeping patterns. I’m usually a night owl, but I love it when my body gets into a wave of waking up early on its own.

I have a solution for you for those tangled cords! Or at least a solution for tangled headphones on an ipod.. I just saw it in a video a couple days ago . http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/1lqZEr/www.sarirclip.com/video/2834/How-to-Do-Ordinary-Things-Quickly
Go to 3:35 (although the rest of the video is pretty cool too). Hopefully it’ll be of use! If not, at least you’ve learned a cool way to peel an egg.

Ice cream and pita chips? I could see that work..although I think I would add some cinnamon to the chips first!

Waking up early rocks! Although, maybe I’m just saying that because I physically CAN’T sleep in. It’s really annoying!

Your salad in a glass container reminded me of a KERF lunch. I think she’s rubbing off on you. :D

Good call on taking it easy on the ankle – better to be safe. That bar looks delish..

YAY you’re at HLS again! Me too :-) AND I have a dodgy ankle as well – we can hobble around NOT running together :p
