Life Lesson, Etc. Part III

in Life Lessons

1. You get as many chances in life as you’re willing to take.

IMG_9069.jpg

2. When you’re running, if you must spit, do so to the side of your body (as opposed to in front of your body). Unless you enjoy getting saliva on your legs…

3. Student loans are a buzzkill (only 111 more months to go!).

4. Smile at people when you walk past them. There’s no reason not to.

5. Appreciate the sun when it’s shining because you never know when it’s going to rain for a week straight.

6. You can keep telling yourself this song (the Glee remake) is ridiculously irritating, but it’s an awesome running song. Despite bursting out laughing AND having to sing me and my fraaaands out loud (every time), my pace was significantly faster while it was playing on my iPod.

7. Having a best friend in law school is hard work! It’s going to be a long 3 years. Love you, Kat Lobes!

8. No matter how many times you listen to this song, it won’t mean Brad is actually singing to/about you.

9. Love what you do, do what you love.

10. Even at the ripe old age of 23.5, half birthdays are still exciting. Happy 1/2 birthday to ME!

When it rains for a week straight, your roof will leak!
But staying positive makes life’s (wet) bumps in the road a lot easier to handle :)

Now THAT’s a cake – Happy half birthday…mine falls on Jay Z’s real birthday (Dec 4th)! My life lesson of the day: always make sure your bag is geared with snacks!

Totally agree on Friday!! Even my Mom loves it. And the smiling thing is also so very true. It’s amazing how much of a mood boost someone smiling toward you lends. Doesn’t matter if it’s a stranger, it’s just nice!

I love #4. I always try smiling at people when I walk past! My life lesson of the day is that a giant boston cream croissant only stays fresh for so long…therefore, have no regrets in eating the whole thing while it’s still warm and buttery ;)

Another life lesson I learned last night is that anger is too tiring to hold on to. When you let go of grudges and forgive others you’re free to enjoy the small things in life (and free to fall asleep!!)

My lesson of the day: if your body says to go home and watch Mad Men on your couch instead of working out, sometimes you have to listen.

These are AWESOME. I love number 9, love what you do, do what you love. Sure, it’s a bit cliche to some, but I’m right there with you..it’s so true!

For example, right now I’m in school and absolutely slaving away studying for anatomy and biology, but lately I’ve tried to adjust my attitude to really try and enjoy school and also include doing things I love..running, blogging, cooking! Life’s too short, why not try and enjoy even the simplest or hardest tasks?

I learned that there is so much free time in college.

I want to fill it up!

Yup, I totally agree with #3. But I read somewhere that student loans are considered “good debt,” like a mortgage, so now I just tell myself I have lots of good debt! :P

I love your one about smiling at people. I always pass this old man walking on my morning runs. His face always lights up when he sees me. Its honestly one of the best parts of my monring!

I love #1! I hate the feeling of regretting NOT doing something, so lately I’m trying to live by the motto of always saying “yes” to opportunities!

My life lesson for the day is that 9 hours in a row of class is way too freaking much, so I need to try to switch around my schedule ASAP. :P

Happy 1/2 b-day! Love smiling at random strangers on the street…I see no need to glare at everyone! I just passed the 1/2 way mark on paying off my student loans, you’ll be there before you know it!

I love reading all your life lessons. Student loans are no fun. I’m afraid of facing them after graduate school even if I’ve been knocking them down through interest+principle payments.
