Snow Way!

I had big plans to go grocery shopping today at Whole Foods. Yeah, huge plans. I have coupons that expire at the end of the month and they must be redeemed.

But my plans were postponed when I woke up to a Winter Wonderland!!

Snow. HEAVY snow.

IMG_1793.jpg IMG_1803.jpg

It’s only October! Leaves are still trying to change colors!! I was running outside in shorts yesterday!!!

IMG_1784.jpg IMG_1798.jpg

We’re supposed to get 4-6 inches!

IMG_1801.jpg

Some people are crazy enough to run in this madness (I’m such a creeper).

IMG_1795.jpg

While others are crazy enough to walk outside barefoot to capture it.

Apparently, we celebrated with fruit. Peter sliced up a pineapple and a papaya. I also had pumpkin spice coffee, cinnamon raisin toast, and a persimmon!

Everything starts with P…

IMG_1808.jpg

It had been so long since I last ate a persimmon that I wasn’t sure if the skin was edible. Before Peter could even answer my question (can you eat the skin of a persimmon?), I bit into it like an apple and got my answer…

No.

So my big plans have turned into cozying up on the couch with my book, catching up on blog work, and maybe going to the gym. My legs ache from yesterday’s 9 miler and I need to get some blood flowing and then streeeeetch.

Have a spectacular Saturday! Stay warm, y’all.

Tell me: Is it snowing over there? Got any fun [Halloween] weekend plans? Do tell.

Wow, that’s insane!! I’m so excited that Christmas is coming though…definitely started listening to some festive tunes :D . It hasn’t started snowing here yet but it’s gotten to freezing temperatures.

And for halloween, me and some classmates are dressing up as characters from Wizard of Oz. I’m going to be the scarecrow. My afternoon is officially set aside to work on the costume!

I have always eaten the skin when eating persimmons– i’ve heard they have many health benefits, as as long as the fruit is ripe, they should be soft and thin, and easy to eat!

We’re getting 8-12! Ugh! I discovered the deliciousness of persimmons last year. I can’t believe I hadn’t had one before that. They are so good, but that skin is nasty!

Thank GOD I live in Florida! And I don’t think I’m doing anything for Halloween.

Hmm, what exactly does a persimmon taste like? I don’t think I’ve ever had one.
And I can’t believe it’s snowing by you & not by me! I go to school in one of the snowiest cities in the country…but I guess I don’t mind that it’s holding off here for a bit longer!

So crazy! I don’t know why, but I feel like Christmas is coming fast this year–I’ve already started buying Christmas gifts too! Oh and Joe started playing Christmas music this morning! What’s the deal?! It’s a sunny, crisp fall day today, but it sure does look cozy there! We might do some pumpkin carving with friends, or just by ourselves if we don’t make plans soon haha. Enjoy your day!

My plans were to run my first 5k this morning (I ran in 30:45! I’m so proud of myself) and later on tonight I am going to face paint for a children’s Halloween party. Other than that I have no other plans.
I can’t believe it’s snowing in October! It was pouring rain before the 5k started but it finally stopped after a few minutes in of running.

Yeah none of my friends in McLean are getting any snow. It’s pretty heavy here though.

Persimmons are so yummy! They are also used to strengthen your lungs in Chinese Medicine. I had a pneumonia last year and persimmons saved me.

79 and not a cloud in the sky in Los Angeles ;-) I’m actually jealous of your snow! …but I’m sure I’d be over it in like a day.

I have to ask too- what does a persimmon taste like?
This weather is CRAZY! And people certainly don’t know how to drive in the snow- even if it isn’t sticking to the roads! You’re definitely better off staying inside with your creeper lens. :)
