Hello! How was your Monday? The kiddos had the day off from school, so I was with them from dawn ’til dusk. Fun, but very very tiring! I have so much respect for parents right now.

We played.

My mom makes the BEST English pudding for Christmas Day. You have it steamed, piping hot, and with spoonfuls of hard sauce–which is basically chilled butter and powdered sugar. Nothing beats it!

Getting a lollipop box would be great! I always want to try new items at the store but I’m afraid they aren’t very healthy or they won’t taste so great. I loveeee peanut butter pie on thanksgiving, I look forward to it every year. But my favorite christmas sweet has gotta be the homemade sugar cookies my mom, sisters and I make together every year.

When you said “holiday” my mind immediately flew to Christmas… but then I realized Thanksgiving has yet to hit American shores! So I will provide 2 “favourites”:

#1. For Thanksgiving, the eponymous Pumpkin Pie. Obviously. Topped with a generous dollop of home-made coconut cream whip!
#2. For Christmas, my grandmother’s cinnamon buns – a recipe passed down the family via the female line for generations and still (dare I say it) secret :)

My favorite holiday sweet would have to be a (veganized) Rachel Ray pumpkin pecan pie. It’s really great for people who think they don’t like pumpkin pie, but who actually just don’t like pumpkin pie spice. It’s also great for people who shy away from corn syrup in pecan pie, because the pumpkin helps with consistency enough that you can sub half maple syrup and half brown rice syrup for the liquid sweetener. MMMM.
