The Beauty of Turkey

in Dinner, Trips, Turkey

It is so unbelievably gorgeous here. I can’t stop taking photographs!

Like really, I can’t. I took over 600 photos today in less than 12 hours. Umm yeah, I’m not exaggerating. Though I sorta wish I was. I took the photos in RAW, which means I have to edit them ALL! I mean, I don’t have to, but you know I will. Even if it takes me months, I’m determined to edit them all…one by one.

Before coming here, I kept hearing how beautiful Turkey was. I must say I didn’t see it the first couple of days. It was gloomy, dreary, rainy and cold. But then the SUN came out and I saw the beauty.

After visiting Troy, we headed to Kasadasi, a beach/resort town by the Aegean Sea where my breath was taken away…a hundred and one times.

IMG_3313.jpg

The above photo is the view from the hotel pool! Yes, really. This pool right here…

IMG_3296.jpg IMG_3300.jpgIMG_3312.jpg IMG_3299.jpg

The hotel was located ~1.5 miles from the center of town, which made for great photo ops and a good way to get in a long walk at night after dinner.

IMG_3828.jpg

There was just one problem. It was hard for me to breathe while walking because the view was so darn pretty! It took my breath away. I sound like a cheesy love song right now, I know.

IMG_3817.jpg IMG_3323.jpg

We arrived at the hotel in time for dinner and the buffet was outstanding. Hands down, the best meal we’ve had so far. The food here is getting better and better.

The salad bar of my dreams…

IMG_3248.jpg IMG_3249.jpg

Dessert!

IMG_3251.jpg IMG_3252.jpg

I just cannot get enough of the fruit here. It is so sweet.

IMG_3253.jpg

I loaded up my plate as per usual.

IMG_3256.jpg

Shrimp and mussels! I used to strongly dislike mussels, but wiithin the last couple of months, I have fallen deeply in love with them.

IMG_3258.jpg

I tried some of the hot food too. Veal kebaps with carrots and potatoes.

IMG_3259.jpg

Roasted eggplant and red peppers with yogurt sauce.

IMG_3260.jpg

Earlier that day, I mentioned to my mom that I hadn’t seen any turkey in Turkey. And then it appeared at the buffet. I had a bite just to say I ate turkey in Turkey :) .

IMG_3262.jpg IMG_3257.jpg IMG_3265.jpg

For dessert, I had some outrageously sweet grapes and a few desserts. I must say, I’m not in love with Turkish desserts. They’re way too sweet for me (and I have a huge sweet tooth!).

IMG_3269.jpg

Kasadasi at night.

IMG_3273.jpg

There’s more. There’s so SO much more! Ahh I can’t blog fast enough.

Tell me…the most beautiful city/country/place you’ve visited.

It’s so hard to think of the most beautiful places I’ve been! I guess it’s a tie between Kauai and Lagos, Portugal.
My sister’s bf is from Turkey. Now I know why my sister has been tempted to move back there with him!

Glad your having fun and it is so fun for us to see your trip as it’s happening! I was in Kusadasi and Ephesus this summer as part of my honeymoon. I hope you make it to Ephesus. It’s truly amazing… especially the Terrace Houses and public toilets!

haha I love that you ate turkey in Turkey! All that food looks so good, and wow Turkey is stunning! The most beautiful place I’ve ever visited is hands down Hawaii. Absolutely breathtaking.

Wow, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking!!! Probably one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to was Banff, Alberta. A couple friends and I hiked up some mountains and the view from the top was spectacular…and almost overwhelming :D .

Looks like you are having an awesome trip!

The most gorgeous place that I have ever been to is a small village outside of Tehran, Iran. It was located high up in the mountains, and the view was incredible!

Your pics are amazing! I would have to agree that nut butter and banana is so delicious. However, if I do a morning workout I love to fuel with coffee and 1/4 cup of oatmeal with cinnamon and banana. I can’t eat too much before I work out. If I workout in the afternoon I like to have a piece of fruit (apples are my fav) with a tablespoon or so of unsalted almonds. Eating well before I exercise makes my workout so much better and I feel so much healthier.

It looks amazing there! Coastal Mediterranean areas are always so beautiful!

I haven’t travelled to very many places, but I honestly think Nothern Ontario is one of the most gorgeous places I’ve ever been. The lakes, evergreens, and rocky cliffs are breathtaking. :)

I haven’t traveled out of North America (which is a total shame!) but the most beautiful places I’ve seen on this continent are in the Pacific Northwest- in Washington State and British Colombia. Well, I also have to mention Colorado- out west where the higher elevation mountains are always provide the most amazing views.
Good for you for taking your photos RAW. The beautiful outcome will be worth it!!

WOW.
Wow to the scenery…and wow to that salad bar. Both look unbelievable!

Hmm, the most beautiful place I’ve been to….Well, the Caribbean is GORGEOUS, especially the crystal clear turquoise water. I also love Lake Tahoe..the water there is beautiful, too, because they try to keep it pristine!
