Behind the scenes at my first ever real photo shoot…

Background Story: A couple weeks ago, Dan started tweeting me and commenting on/liking my posts on Facebook after stumbling upon my blog. Then one day, he made this comment…

I clicked over and realized he lived only about an hour away from me—small world! After a few emails, we had a photo shoot scheduled. We met up yesterday to photograph his gourmet (and oh so delicious) popcorn for his soon-to-be-completed website, other social media pages and marketing materials. Dan is launching his business, CrunchDaddy Popcorn, at the stroke of midnight on 1/1/2012! Talk about time crunch :) .
.

Talking to him about his business reminded me of the days when I thought about starting my own business making AllieBars. Remember?!?

Between munching handfuls of popcorn, I took a few photos :) .

I shot 10 different flavors of popcorn, which will be revealed on the website soon! Here’s a peak at some of them…

Do some of these placemats look familiar?

Close up!

IMG_6635.jpg IMG_6687.jpg IMG_6599.jpg

Needless to say, I left with a belly full of popcorn. Dan also sent me home with 5+ gallons of popcorn, all wrapped up beautifully to giveaway…or eat myself! Muahaha.

3 1/2 hours zoomed by in the blink of an eye. I had a wonderful time using my food photography skills for something other than my blog! Thank you, Dan for the opportunity to photograph your products. I had a blast.

Now it’s time to EDIT all those photos!

This sounds like such a cool opportunity! I met a wedding photographer while I was on vacation in Curacao last month and he had the coolest job description, ever! He was able to relax on a beautiful island during the day then attend elegant weddings at night while snapping pictures!

very cool! And damn, that popcorn looks delicious! I hope you do some giveaways instead of eating it all. Although, I’d probably eat it if it were me ;)

Oh I meant giveaway to friends and family! Shipping would get complicated and expensive. BUT we are talking about doing a giveaway once the business is launched in a couple weeks.

Oh, haha! Can you tell I was too busy drooling over popcorn to think that one through?! Shipping popcorn canisters would definitely be annoying! Don’t mind me…

We will most definitely provide popcorn for some giveaways once CrunchDaddy Popcorn is open for business. I’ll take care of the shipping!

Working with Allie yesterday was a complete pleasure! As you can see, her talents shine through in her work and I’m so thankful to call her MY photographer! She’s every bit as wonderful in-person as you see on this blog and she’s a true hard-working professional with a stellar attitude. I hope that many more people will consider employing Allie’s talents for their food products.

Thanks for all of the kind remarks about the popcorn! I’m tremendously excited to be opening the business soon and being able to share what my friends and family have been enjoying for years. Having Allie shoot these products takes care of a big part of what the website (under construction) is lacking. I’m chipping away at the remaining details, so it’s a busy time!

I have been using the CrunchDaddy Popcorn Facebook page to share my story of building the business from the ground up. I would love to have you join me so I can keep you informed of the latest news and progress! Find us at http://facebook.com/CrunchDaddy.Popcorn

Once again, many thanks for all of the compliments on my popcorn!
