Happy Friday, yo!
I went to a yoga class at a local studio yesterday. I finally redeemed the $40/month new student pass after many many months of putting it off.
I had to draaaaaaaaaag myself there. I have all the motivation in the world to run, but when it comes to yoga? Nonexistent. I know I’ll feel a million times better afterwards, but I just can’t get myself to go. Something about driving there, rolling out my mat, waiting for class to start…such a process.
However, I’m going light on running this week and I know yoga will only help me be a better runner (I’ve Googled “benefits on yoga” about 20 times this week to motivate myself to go).

I took the Power Hour class (Ashtanga style), simply because it was a short class. It ended up being more stretching than power yoga, which was exactly what my tight legs needed. I could feel my lower back pain just melt away. There wasn’t any music though and the instructor didn’t talk much. I prefer instructors who talk about connecting to the earth and all that jazz.
Since it’s an unlimited month pass, the more you go the better the deal. That alone will motivate me to go as often as I can! I’m hoping 2-3x/week at the very least.

Onto some cool eats. Cool as in super rad AND cold…
Mama LLE has been making this delicious Tomato and Basil Salad she made up. Marinated in garlic, rice vinegar, olive oil, salt and a dash of sugar. So cool.

She’s become a Food Network fanatic, constantly talking about Barefoot Contessa.
Mama: Contessa made this dish the other day…
Me: Mama, did you know her real name is Ina Garten? Not Contessa.
Mama: Really? No wonder “Ina Garten” always shows up on the TV. Oh WAIT, I thought they were trying to say “IN A garden.” Like she’s in her garden.” Her garden is beautiful.
Me: BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA (echoed throughout Costco for everyone to hear)

I Scream for Ice Cream!
These babies are always super pricey, but I got them for super cheap (on clearance AND $1 off coupons!). Wahoo! So coconutty (obviously), rich and creamy.

After yoga, I caved and got a Brown Rice Salmon Avocado Roll from Harris Teeter. $6 baby! The craving could not be tamed.

Remember when I ate a Cool as a Cucumber Salad practically every day last summer? Well, it’s back!

After our spa appointment over the weekend, we went next door to check out Mom’s Organic Market. I’d only heard about the store, but had never been inside one.

Plus free FULL cups of coffee, tea and lemonade.

I finally found Carob Banana Chunks of Energy!! I’ve been dying to try this flavor for so long.

And Naturally Nutty! My absolute favorite almond butter. Unfortunately, the price tag was a bit steep and I just couldn’t do it.

I’m head over heels in love with Michele’s Granola, a local company. I love when I find it in bulk. It’s SO crispy, but in a soft, delicate way (do you know what I mean?). So far they’re available in MD, VA, DC, DE, KY, NJ, OH and PA.

I got a big bag and it’s already gone. Must go back!

I was all about the cinnamon life. Nom nom nom
I love Cinnamon Chex, I actually bought a box when we were in Hawaii last week so I could have a healthyish breakfast every AM….yummers – though, cereal in HI is SOO expensive ($6!!) it was worth it…
My favorite cereal was Fruity Pebbles. Hands down.

Lucky Charms was always the “junky” cereal I would pick out as a special treat on my birthday!!

I grew up on Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Honey Bunches of Oats!
My parents didn’t let me eat sugary cereals but when I slept over my grandfathers house, he always had lucky charms and loved it!
I love Lucky Charms!…When I want to be a bit healthier I go for Honey Bunches of Oats and Raisin Bran.
Apple Cinnamon!? I’d be in gluten free heaven. Chex are about the only cereal I eat these days.
Growing up I didn’t eat a lot of cereal and I honestly still don’t. My parents didn’t have the sugary cereals in the house.. so I do remember cheerios and rice krispies.
My favorite cereal growing up was S’Mores! I ate like 3 boxes a week, kinda crazy!
I love GOLDEN GRAHAMS!
Love that it’s gluten free! I love that companies are helping make life a little bit easier for those with gluten intolerance
I tweeted!
That cereal looks awesome! I would love to try it!
My favorite cereal growing up was rice krispies or cheerios. I loved both and would usually mix them After being diagnosed with celiac I am so glad they have this chex brand.
My favorite cereal growing up was lucky charms and honeycombs!
I ate A LOT of Kix cereal. But Golden Grahams was a special treat!
Goodness, I loooooooved Lucky Charms as a kid. As in, go grocery shopping Saturday and eat the entire box by Sunday. Good thing that I had a healthy metabolism back then.
Cinnamon Chex sounds delish!! I love my corn and rice Chex. So tasty! And a lot less guilt than Lucky Charms.
I actually didn’t have sugary cereal growing up, so I’ve gotten to try everything as an adult! Just as fun!
I’ve always loved cinnamon toast crunch. I wasn’t allowed sugary cereals though, so my favourite healthy cereal growing up would have to be Life.
I think I grew up loving Cocoa Pebbles…or Lucky Charms. These look a little healthier!
The chocolate chex is like CANDY, so delicious! I mock Barefoot Contessa all the time!
Hahaha right?! She’s always getting together with her friends and preparing meals for her hubby…Jerry is it?
Yum this sounds good! I always wanted the Reeses cereal when I was a kid, but my mom would never buy it. Come to think of it, I should go buy some now!
Since I generally end up adding cinnamon to all my cereal anyway, this would be great for me!
I’m obsessed with chex! My favorite cereal growing up has got to be fruit loops…oh and trix! Something about all the colors made it more fun to eat!
Loved Lucky Charms… sigh.
Omg that looks so good!
Oh’s for sure,..love that granola like middle!
loooove good ole cap’n crunch!
Favorite cereal growing up was Frosted Flakes…Tony the Tiger ruled!
Your mom and I are on the same page! Up until a few years ago, i used to think that the show was trying to say ” In a Garten” too, because of her beautiful garden, haha thats hilarious. But i love the Barefoot contessa!
Hahaha I thought she was the only one!
my favorite cereal growing up was trix–and prohibited in our household! and now i have way too many favorites to pick just one, but it’s usually a scrumptious mix of something nutritious (kashi, fiber one) and something sweet (apple cinnamon chex, perhaps!)
.
I loved honey nut cheerios, although my mom wouldn’t buy them (or any cereal with more than three grams of sugar per serving). Thankfully, I went on a lot of sleepovers and got my fill of sugary cereals there!
My favorite childhood cereal was frosted flakes! I actually miss them time to time
My favorite cereal growing up was Honey Nut Cheerios! I haven’t had any in a while but the HOT weather that we’ve been having lately is making me crave a big bowl of it with cold milk!
My favorite cereals as a kid were Rice Krispies, Rice Chex, Crispix, Special K, Shredded Wheat n Bran, Life and Cinnamon Life. I still love most of those, but I also love Multigrain Cheerios and that Cinnamon Chex is AWESOME!
Omgosh, I love cereal! I’m pretty sure I can eat a whole box of cereal within a day… hahaha, but I had so many favorite cereals growing up! I loved Honey Bunches of Oats, Apple Jacks, Fruit Loops… the list goes on and on
My fave was Cinnamon Toast Crunch. And seriously, the Cinnamon Chex tastes SO much like it! I can’t get enough. So I’m sure the Apple Cinnamon is completely delicious!
Hmm, come to think of it, I’m not sure I ever had Chex as a kid! How weird is that?? I’m pretty sure I tried almost every cereal under the sun (I love cereal), but I don’t remember ever trying Chex. Does it taste like Life Cereal (it kind of looks like it)?
You MUST try some!! So good.
I would also choose frosted flakes when we were traveling and staying at a hotel with those mini assorted cereal boxes, the sugared milk at the end was the best!
My favorite cereal was cocoa crispies and frosted flakes with sliced bananas.
I tweeted
My favorite cereal has always been cracklin oat bran!
I was always a fan of lucky charms and cinnamon toast crunch!
Definitely Peanut Butter Cap’n Crunch!

Lucky Charms were a once a year treat growing up!
Cinnamon Life was my all time fave growing up but now that I’m gluten free, I’m all about Cinnamon Chex.
My favs were Corn Pops, Honey Nut Cherrios and Cookie Crisps. It is so hot outside and the thought of a bowl of cereal with ice cold milk sounds so good!
Favorite cereal growing up was (and still is!) Cheerios! But Chex was always up there in the top 5. Especially made as muddy buddies…YUM! I wonder if you could make a caramel muddy buddy version with the apple cinnamon?! Maybe I’ll give it a shot with my box if I win
Dear me oh my that sounds SO good!!
My favs were and still are Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Reese’s Peanut Butter Puffs, and Golden Grahams. I hope I get a chance to try this new cereal!
Mmm, i am always open to new cereals, even better if gluten free!
I don’t remember most of my fav cereals when i was little, i remember liking some animal shaped ones, cereals with prizes (duh), wholegrain cheerios ( yep, more than honey or something ), nestle chocapic and sometimes Nesquik
Oh yes, I always chose the box based on the prizes!

I love the Honey Nut Chex. The new flavor looks delicious!!!
Cinnamon toast crunch was my favorite growing up. I still love it.
I have to say Ina is one of my Food Network faves, so it’s on a lot. Seth refers to her as the “barefoot lady.” Typical.
Favorite cereal growing up? I really loved Kix, and I recently had an intense craving for it, so I’ve been enjoying it all week
Being newly diagnosed as needing to be gluten free Chex has been my go to. I’ve only had the rice one- i’d love to win!!!!
haha my mom’s friend used to buy cookie crisp and give me a box as a present when we saw her! otherwise i usually ate life cereal and honey nut cheerios.
Lucky Charms was my favorite cereal, and shredded wheat was a a close second, which is surprising because they’re so opposite.
Is it weird if I just learned that her name was Ina… and she wasn’t in fact in a garden… like your mom thought? Lol
Haha I thought she was the only one!
As I kid I loved cocoa puffs. Lately though, I am loving honey nut chex.
I always loved Frosted Flakes – but my mom would only let us get it for very special occasions!

I wish I could do yoga but I have a fainting disorder which prevents me from doing any inversions. One of my best friends is a yoga instructor and told me I should check out pre-natal yoga as I would be able to do that…but wouldn’t that be weird if I wasn’t preggo?
i absolutely would have done the same had that been my mom. actually sounds like something she would say too, ha! my favorite cereal by far as a child was cinnamon toast crunch. its practically now marketed as a health food since it has fortification & “whole grains”
My absolute fav. cereal growing up was Cocoa Puffs!

The whole Ina Garten story was absolutely hilarious. Does your mom watch any other Food Network show? Have you seen Ellie Krieger? She makes really healthy versions of potentially-fattening food!
Yeah she watches a bunch as do I. I love Giada! Didn’t Ellie get canceled? Or moved to the Cooking Channel…
I think she got moved to the Cooking Channel; I was just wondering if you guys have heard of her. Actually, I think I found her somewhere on youtube lol.

coco wheats definitely my fav cereal growing up and to this day
I used to love honey bunches of oats!…soggy honey bunches of oats, that is. Yep, I used to come downstairs and make my bowl of cereal and then find something else to do while it got soggy. Then come back and devour every bite! I was quite an unusual kid haha. Thankfully I have outgrown this little quirk!
My favorite cereal growing up was Reese’s Puffs, hands down. Those suckers are so addicting! I love that the new PB Cheerios (which are mildly better for you) kind of taste the same!
Also, I tweeted about the giveaway! https://twitter.com/MyFreckledLife/status/219253328243204096
I love cinnamon toast crunch!
I never really ate cereal while I was growing up, but Archer Farms French Vanilla Almond Crunch Cereal was an amazing find by my college roommate. She bought it, but I polished ALL of it off. That’s when I realized that I could not be trusted around granola/cereal. It’s scarily easy to eat. OMNOMNOM.
Lucky Charms was my favorite
I love eating Raisin Bran when I was younger. Now I like Honey Bunches of Oats.
You seriously just made my day by telling me there’s going to be an Apple Cinnamon Chex flavor!!
I loooooved cinnamon life!
Growing up, I always loved Cheerios, Puffed Wheat (I know, I know, a kid who likes puffed wheat is pretty nuts…). Cereals I like for dessert now are Reeses Puffs and Lucky Charms
Have a happy fourth!
When I was really little, i loved fruity pebbles. When I was older, I loved corn pops! Yum, I’m gonna go find some cereal now!
Up until a few years ago I LOVED special K chocolately delight. Well, I still love it but stopped eating it when I realized how awful the ingredients are haha. So sad
My favorite cereal growing up was Lucky Charms! I always picked out the marshmallows first. I can’t even imagine eating that now that I’m trying to lose weight.
Cinnamon is my favorite spice. I keep bottles of it at my desk at work to put on my food. Can’t be without it! The apple cinnamon chex just sounds amazing and I’m already obsessed with the plain cinnamon flavor.
I love Cheerios! Honey Nut and Cinnamon are my current faves!
I LOVE chex! They are so good. I have never tried this apple cinnamon kind, though, just the plain rice chex!

My favorite cereal growing up was Alphabits.
If your practice pranayama (breathing techniques) – it is recommended not to eat at least 5-6 hours in advance. Well, this is for advanced pranayama practitioners. 2-3 hours of gap for short and not very intense pranayama practice is OK. (You will know the answer fast if you keeping awareness of your body.)
