Happy National Vitamin Day!

Happy National Vitamin Day! Now if there’s ONE day in the year you take your vitamins, make it today. K?

Is there a National Flossing Day? Because I’ve definitely missed it the past 24 years. They should make it January 1st, ha! If only I was as diligent about flossing as I am taking my vitamins. I think having candy floss would definitely help! Get on it, Crest.

I’ve definitely been getting in my vitamins ever since getting a stash of Vitamelts from the NatureMade headquarters. It’s taken a lot of willpower to stay at or below the recommended dosage.

I’m waiting for the day they come out with more flavors/vitamins, so I can take more.

NatureMade is challenging us to make a commitment to our health today and continue keeping our healthy New Years resolutions. Yes, continue!

I live a relatively healthy lifestyle as it is (minus the whole flossing thing), but one thing I am terrible at is going to the doctor! If it weren’t for the prescription medication I take for my asthma, I would never go. I even stretch out my medication (underdose…?), so I can delay going for as long as possible. I know, terrible.

I’m making a healthy pledge to get my tush to the doctor this year!

I’m also going to make a more long term healthy pledge to put on sunscreen, especially when I am out running this spring/summer. Unless it’s 90*F and super sunny, I usually just bypass my bottle of sunscreen. BUT the sun is still damaging my skin even if I don’t burn and I need to be better about it. Those pesky sunspots are gonna start showing up sooner than later!

I snagged these on super clearance at Marshalls last week. What a steal! I love Ahava, but it’s pricey stuff. Not gonna lie, I’m a little excited to put on sunscreen now that I have these babies.

Okay, your turn…

My healthy pledge this year is to keep taking my vitamins – I take Reliv ( and to do more cross-training. I am doing good so far, ha! I have seen a huge improvement so hopefully that will help keep me motivated!
I am the same with stretching out medicine as long as I can before I have to go see the dr again!

I started flossing consistently when I learned that dental plaque and arterial plaque are related and that gum disease is associated with heart disease. Go floss go!!

My healthy pledge this year is to cut out soda and eat more fiber. Those Vitamelts look delicious! Seems like they would be absorbed by the body better than pills. I hate swallowing pills

My healthy pledge is to drink more water, and convince my parents that gummy vitamins are totally acceptable to eat even as an almost adult.

I thought you were promoting gluten-free eating – It’s ok if you aren’t anymore – by all means do whatever is right for you and your body to support running and general health – but I worry this might be sending a mixed message.

Vitamelts (most of them, I’m not sure about all) contain wheat! They’re not gluten free!

Hi Liz!

You’re right, they do contain wheat. Thank you for reminding me that I need to make a note of that. I am not 100% gluten free as I occasionally consume gluten in very small doses i.e. soy sauce, sugar cookie sleigh ride tea, etc.
