Friday Giveaway: Salba Chia Seeds

in Giveaway

I’ve developed this terribly awesome (awesomely terrible?) habit of eating gob loads of candy right before I run. Swedish fish, fruit snacks, Nerds, milk chocolate, yogurt covered almonds…you name it! The sugar is actually great for fuel, but this past week I thought I’d make something with a little more substance.

Before we get to that…

I went to a work meeting where there were vendors set up. While everyone was grabbing keychains, post-it notes, and pens, I was grabbing ALLLL the chocolate!

These Hershey’s toffee almond nuggets are the JAM!! Happy V-Day to moi.

Last Sunday I was browsing through my recipes and stumbled upon these Oatmeal Butterscotch Cookie Dough Bites.

I decided I needed to make them again. Right then and there.

(…and then I glanced at the date and realized it was the 1 year anniversary of that recipe post. Not really deja vu, but kinda like that!).

IMG_8010.jpg

I decided to make them with…

…chopped butter toffee almonds for some crunch.

buttertoffee.JPG

…half sunflower seed butter half almond butter.

…a little cinnamon roll protein powder.

…some pumpkin to moisten it up.

…extra butterscotch chips (caaaandy!).

…and chia seeds!

I used Salba Chia Seeds, which I was sent to try.

Chia seeds are a wonderful way to add fiber, Omega-3s, protein and antioxidants to smoothies, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, baked goods and…Oatmeal Butterscotch Cookie Dough BItes!

I love that they come in single serving packets, so I can take them with me on the go.

Yay Chia! I love them in my morning oats, and in chia pudding with cocoa and almond milk, yum!

I eat chia seeds every night in my “overnight” oats snack – really “sit in the fridge for 2 hours” oats. Delish!

I like adding them to my overnight oats to help thicken it all up.

My favorite way to use chia is in a dark chocolate & peanut butter chia seed pudding! It’s so healthy, yet so delicious at the same time!
