Howdy! How goes it?

The holidays are here, can you believe it? The days are getting shorter (so short!). The air is getting colder (so cold!). A warm, cozy breakfast is essential (so essential!).

Y’all know I’m infatuated with coffee. It’s my beverage/drug of choice. Regular, decaf, iced, hot…I don’t discriminate. It’s what gets me out of bed most mornings. No shame.

Tamara from Puro Blends graciously sent me a package of fair trade coffee to try. How could I resist? Their coffee is blended, roasted and packaged in Belgium. Money from each cup sold goes towards saving the rainforest in coffee producing countries. You can watch a short video here!

Their coffee was lighter than I’m used to (I’m a dark roast girl all the way), but delicious nonetheless. There’s nothing like knowing you’re doing a good deed while sipping your cuppa Joe.

We were out of half ‘n’ half one morning, which I normally use in my coffee, so I cracked open a can of evaporated milk from the pantry to use instead. SO good! Creamy and luscious. Because it’s more concentrated than regular milk, it doesn’t dilute your coffee as much. It also just tastes different…in an awesome way.

Ya gotta try it! Both whole and 2% are great.

Something else I’ve been enjoying in the morning is Mix My Own granola/muesli mix. Klara and David, the founders of the company,  gave me the opportunity to create my own mix on their website. They had a great selection of grains, dried/freeze-dried fruit, nuts, and seeds to choose from. They also offer pre-mixed combos. It would make a wonderful gift for the holidays!

The muesli goes great with goat milk yogurt, which I finally tried! I am kicking myself for waiting so long, especially since I love goat cheese. The goat flavor is present, but not overpowering. The one from Trader Joe’s is made with whole goat milk, so it’s super creamy!

What else have my tastes buds been enjoying?

These Pumpkin Pie Almonds (found at Marshalls, of course) are the bomb. Were the bomb, I should say.

A brand spankin’ new Fresh Market just opened WAY too dangerously close to my house. I used to go to TFM all the time when I spent a summer on Hilton Head Island for my internship. It’s like a food museum in there.

While browsing through their epic bulk section, an employee came over and told me I could try anything I wanted. “Just scoop some into your hand!”

I swear angels started singing. Don’t mind if I do, lady!

Check this out! By far the best thing I sampled.

I found these at Wegmans. They are no Cheetos, but pretty dang good. Then again, cheese can make anything taste good.

One of my clients loves Peruvian chicken and after a few conversations about it I had to get some. Yeah, we talk about food while exercising. I went with dark meat (SO much tastier than white meat!) and chose yucca fries and fried plantains for my sides.

That’s all I’ve got for now. I hope you’re enjoying the weekend!

Tell me: What are your plans for Thanksgiving? Which Thanksgiving dish is your favorite? Preparing any delicious dishes in particular? Do tell!

Disclosure: Pure Blends coffee and Mix My Own cereal were sent to me for review. No compensation was provided. All opinions are my own.

I’m all about the stuffing at Thanksgiving. Ironically, the only one who likes pumpkin pie in my family is my mom.

I never thought about trying condensed milk in coffee! I am not even sure if I have even bought condensed milk before! lol
I know my grandma cooks with it… I should tell her about this coffee trick! ;)
